Brunel Hurricanes
Brunel Hurricanes are a highly experienced, dynamic Netball Superleague team based in London and possess an exciting international mix of youth and experience.
The squad includes athletes of an elite standard such as England co-captain Sonia Mkoloma, who is considered one of the greatest defenders in the game. Mkoloma is highly experienced and has played for England at all levels. She is a bronze Commonwealth Games medallist and has represented England in three World Championships.
She also played in the new professional Trans-Tasman competition for Kiwi side Suzuki Central Pulse last season and won the netball equivalent of world footballer of the year. She was named joint "Most Valuable Player" in the ANZ Championship, one of the toughest leagues in the world.
Hurricanes also boast having three Australian athletes in their squad this season; Jaime Galley, Bianca Robinson and Polini Langi.
Former England shooter Asha Tett also joined Brunel this year from twice Superleague winners Team Bath.
Captain Becky Nash is not only a former World Karate Youth Cup Silver Medallist; she has represented England in netball at Under 16 and Under 19 level and has also been part of the England Open Squad.
The squad is coached by Natalie Swift, a coach who knows all about what it takes to succeed at the top level.
Swift from Dorking in Surrey represented England as a player at Under-18, Under-21 and senior level. She was also selected for the New Zealand High Performance Squad in 1994 and trained with the Silver Ferns for the 1995 World Championships.
Brunel Hurricanes are partnered by and train at Brunel University, West London who have invested over £14m in sport in recent years. The squad train twice a week at the University's £1m netball hall.
