Ahead of the 23rd annual Survivor Series, one half of the Unified Tag Team champions Chris Jericho produced a disappearing act with The Undertaker's World Heavyweight Championship.

Friday Night Smackdown was the setting for a main event which featured The Brothers of Destruction Kane and The Undertaker who faced The Unified Tag Team champions.

The colossal main event promised to be just that as two of the most destructive forces in the WWE locked horns for the very first time.

Chaos ensued both inside and outside of the the ring as both teams went on the rampage against one another. On closing, The Big Show knocked out Kane with a right hand.

The Phenom then attempted to chokeslam the 500 pound Big Show off the apron but that backfired when Show countered and hit back with a chokeslam of his own.

Momentum

Upon checking his grounded partner Jericho, a surprised Big Show then found himself on the receiving end of a Codebreaker.

Jericho then fetched the World Title from ringside, ran to the top of the ramp, and claimed he would become the new World Heavyweight champion this Sunday at Survivor Series.

Also this week on Smackdown, The Animal Batista gathered momentum ahead of his clash with Rey Mysterio by defeating fan favourite Matt Hardy with a devastating Batista Bomb.

After his victory, the powerhouse then promised to punish The Biggest Little Man at Survivor Series. The rivalry between once close friends will come to a head this Sunday and it promises to be an epic encounter.

Batista also featured later in the show as he joined forces with the announce team to commentate on Mysterio's first ever match against Tyson Kidd.

Kidd was awarded the victory via disqualification after being attacked by an angry Batista. But a high-flying Mysterio got his own back by staging an attack of his own to leave Batista absolutely livid.

Attack

John Morrison defended his Intercontinental championship against Dolph Ziggler for the second time in seven days, in an exciting two out of three falls match.

The Friday Night Delight secured the first fall of the match via pinfall but a determined Ziggler struck back with the Zig Zag manoeuvre to level the score.

Both superstars then gave it all they had to secure the title, and in the end, it was current champion John Morrison who got the third and final pinfall after executing Starship Pain to retain his WWE Intercontinental championship.

Elsewhere, R-Truth surprised CM Punk, who was in the ring preaching his straightedge philosophy to the WWE Universe. The "What's Up" superstar struck Punk with a trash can that contained alcohol, cigarettes and prescription medication.

Scotsman Drew McIntyre followed up his recent attack on Finlay by pinning the Irishman courtesy of a double underhook DDT.

And finally, the smart, sexy and powerful WWE Divas were in action as Mickie James gave her team the edge heading into Survivor Series with victory over Layla.
