The Jets drop to 3-6 for the season after a disappointing display, with Mark Sanchez in particular struggling.
The quarterback completed just 9-of-22 passes for 124 yards, with one interception, before he was replaced by Tim Tebow.
Muhammad Wilkerson's 21-yard touchdown from Russell Wilson's fumble was as good as it got for the Jets.
Despite that setback, Wilson enjoyed a promising display in the face of some big hits from the Jets defence.
The Seahawks rookie completed 12-of-19 passes for 188 yards, but crucially connected with Golden Tate and Sidney Rice for touchdowns.
Wilson found Tate from 38 yards and Rice from 31 yards to take the game away from the Jets.
Tate also threw a touchdown pass to Rice late on, while Marshawn Lynch rushed from a yard in the second quarter.
