Sam Curran bagged a maiden 10-wicket haul as Surrey maintained their unbeaten start to the Specsavers County Championship season with a thumping innings-and-17-run victory over Yorkshire at the Oval.
Yorkshire succumbed to 168 all out on Monday, losing their final five wickets for 17 runs, with Curran (4-47) ripping through the tail to back up his first-innings 6-54 in south London. SCORECARD
The left-arm seamer - who bowled Cheteshwar Pujara for a duck on Sunday as Yorkshire closed on 142-5 - had Tim Bresnan (1) caught behind by Ben Foakes and castled Steve Patterson (0) and Josh Shaw (0) to scoop three wickets in six balls.
Rikki Clarke claimed the first scalp of the morning when Jonny Bairstow (29) snicked behind and then sealed Surrey's win 9.1 overs into day four by pinning Jack Leaning (28) lbw.
Surrey are third in the top flight, two points behind fellow unbeaten side Somerset, with both teams having a game in hand on table-toppers Nottinghamshire, who lost to Lancashire on Sunday.
Somerset were hoping to force a victory over Hampshire at Taunton, with the visitors beginning the final day on 178-2 and 97 runs away from making the hosts bat again, but had to settle for a draw as James Vince hit an unbeaten 201 from 437 balls, a day before England name their squad for the first Test against Pakistan at Lord's. Vince put on 194 with Hashim Amla (107) and and unbeaten 176 with Rilee Rossouw (65no) as Hampshire racked up 432-4 before handshakes.
Mark Wood also gave a timely nudge to the England selectors with 6-46 in Durham's Division Two draw at Derbyshire, while James Bracey compiled 125 not out for Gloucestershire in their stalemate at Middlesex.
