Vader, whose real name was Leon White, was a three-time WCW champion and also enjoyed strong runs in the then-WWF and Japan, where he left a groundbreaking legacy as a big wrestler who performed athletic moves.

"Leon White entertained (and intimidated) audiences all over the world with his size, strength, and agility," said Triple H. "Saddened to hear of his passing and our thoughts are with his family at this time."

Ric Flair, who had one of the greatest Starrcade main event matches against Vader in 1993, said: "Sorry To Hear About The Loss Of Another Great! Rest In Peace My Friend!"

Ken Shamrock made his WWF debut against Vader, and wrote: "Vader was one of the 1st big men to show that big didn't mean limited skills, speed or agility. He was a beast! I had my 1st WWF match with him & was very pleased with his toughness & endurance. My prayers go out to his family & friends."
