The Warriors are currently occupying sixth place in the Western Conference standings and will be keen to aid their play-off push with another win.
They travel to the Target Center looking to end a run of five straight defeats on the road, but should be full of confidence following an overtime win against the NBA-leading San Antonio Spurs on Friday.
Point guard Stephen Curry and power forward David Lee have been the major forces behind the resurgence of a team who are looking to qualify for the post-season for the first time in six years.
Curry is one of the most exciting scorers in the league while Lee is averaging 11 rebounds per game despite being 'only' 6ft 9in tall.
Lee and Curry are set to be the main attractions again on Sunday, although they will not be wearing the sleeved yellow jerseys which the Warriors debuted against the Spurs.
The Timberwolves, meanwhile, lie outside the play-off places with a record of 20-32 as they go through another season of rebuilding with a young roster.
Like Golden State their future hopes have been pinned on a point guard and a power forward, with Spanish star Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love - the nephew of Beach boys frontman Mike - the faces of the franchise.
However, Love has struggled with injury this season and will miss the contest as he continues his recovery from a broken hand.
Rubio's 2011-12 season was ended by a torn ACL and the 22-year-old has only just got back up to full speed following the serious injury, averaging 15 points and 8.3 assists over the last six games.
Golden State Warriors (32-23) @ Minnesota Timberwolves (20-32), Sunday, 8.30pm, Sky Sports 3HD.
