The Sharks recorded a 91-79 win against the Manchester Giants while the Lions enjoyed a 101-67 success over Surrey United.
Sheffield had to withstand an impressive individual showing from Giants power forward David Aliu before coming through.
Aliu's tally of 28 points was 10 more than anyone else in the match, but it was not enough to deny the Sharks.
London were convincing victors over winless Surrey as they joined Sheffield, Newcastle Eagles and Worcester Wolves on 16 points.
Nick Freer led the way for the Lions with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds in their win.
In Sunday's other game, Glasgow Rocks claimed a 101-90 triumph at Cheshire Phoenix despite Victor Moses recording game-highs in both points (31) and rebounds (15) for the home side.
