Gomes: In the spotlight

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has underlined his support for error-prone goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes by backing the Brazilian to bounce back from his recent blunders this weekend and Sky Bet make it a 6/4 chance he rewards that faith with a clean sheet in the live Sky game against Blackburn.

Gomes has struggled for much of the season and Tottenham announced on Wednesday that goalkeeping coach Hans Leitert has left the club.

Gomes' last clean sheet in the Premier League came against Bolton, just after Redknapp's arrival at the club.

Spurs let in two goals at Fulham last week and it's 4/1 that Gomes is again beaten twice. It's 6/4 he lets in one goal, 11/1 for three and 40/1 for four or more.

Revenge bid

Ricky Hatton is an 11/4 chance with Sky Bet to beat Floyd Mayweather if he can secure a rematch with his nemesis.

Hatton meets American Paulie Malignaggi to defend his Ring magazine light-welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, the same venue where he suffered the first and only defeat of his professional career against Mayweather last December.

Hatton knows a rematch with Mayweather - who for the time being remains in retirement - could be on the cards if he defeats Malignaggi in style.

But Sky Bet don't rate his chances. Hatton was a 13/8 chance for the original fight but is now 11/4 while Mayweather is 1/4 (compared to 4/9).

All bets are void if the fight doesn't take place before the end of 2009 and Hatton said: "I wouldn't mind another crack at Floyd - I don't want to be an old man moaning in a few years' time about that fight, I'd rather he knock me out another time."

"If I have another cracking performance on Saturday then I will put myself in the shop window for another fight with Floyd.

Perry to sparkle?

With only Mark Selby already guaranteed a play-off place, all is still to play for when the Premier League snooker.

With only four players going through to the play-offs, Joe Perry, who has lost only one match so far to Junhui, knows he must overcome John Higgins on Thursday to stand the best chance of qualification.

Perry, who qualified for the Premier League by winning the Championship League, is 13/8 with Sky Bet to beat Higgins and evens to get the highest break of the match (8/11 Higgins and 25/1 Tie). It's 10/11 for there to be no breaks of 100 or more in the match (6/4 exactly 1 and 9/2 two or more) and 5/4 for there to be over 4.5 breaks of 50 in the match (4/7 under 4.5 breaks 50+).

In the other match, the 4/5 favourite for the Premier League, Ronnie O'Sullivan, takes on seven-time world champion, Stephen Hendry.

O'Sullivan is 4/5 to record his third win in the Premier League with Hendry 3/1 and the draw 9/4. It's 11/4 for O'Sullivan to win with a handicap start of -3.5 frames (10/11 Hendry +0.5 frames), 4/7 that the Rocket gets the highest break of the match and 5/2 that there are two or more breaks of 100 in the match.
