Ricky Hatton Thursday presser

Friday, May 16

I have my own scales at home and I had them calibrated today and then jumped on them. I'm 10 stone six with a week to go before the fight so I am happy with that.

More media, this time the local tele called at my house for an interview. These are the guys who did a piece on my ring entrance. One of the papers has said I've got knife throwers lined up.

I think the guy who wrote it must be on something. All I said at a press conference was that 'I think there are plenty of people out there who have knives out for me.'

Imagine trying to walk into the ring while avoiding a knife thrower! Wow! Now that is crazy. No, the ring entrance is sorted and it is absolutely mint.

I've also been down to the gym for the last day of my hard training. All the hard work is nearly done and next week will be more about tactics and making weight.

After training I went up on the hills near where I live for a photo shoot with one of the national papers. The photographer Mark has become a mate and it was crazy.

I sat on a sofa with a standard lamp and coffee table on the top of a hill overlooking Manchester. As he was taking photographs people were walking behind with their dogs or jogging.

Mark had been up there all afternoon waiting because we did not know what time training would finish. I think they must have thought he was some kind of nut case.
