Chavez Jnr & Snr: heroes

Well, the training is getting tougher and tougher each day, but I've got to say I am enjoying every minute.

The weather is also getting a little harder to take, and it has changed. Just to cheer you up back in Britain it is starting to get colder. It even rained over the weekend - it's just like being in Manchester.

On Saturday night with training over, I managed to pop along to the Mandalay Bay to catch some fights.

Top of the bill was Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr, who managed to outpoint Matt Vanda over 10 rounds. His dad, the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez was ringside and attracted plenty of attention of course.

It still amazes me though, that I get recognised by so many people over here, especially the Mexicans.

There were some other great fights on the card, and all in all it was a good night's boxing - it's certainly nice to see things from the other side of the ropes from time to time.

Memorabilia

On Sunday I managed to get a rubdown. As the training gets tougher and tougher it will be important to keep loose with these regular sessions.

After that, fully refreshed, I decided to get some relaxation so we popped over to Caeser's Palace and into the shops at The Forum.

I've got my eye on some memorabilia to take back home - I've just bought a new house and have a games room to fill!

It's Monday now and I have to be brief, we're about to head off to the gym for sparring...

Yo, Ricky, Spank that Yank. Take him out good and proper, right on the kisser. Make him see stars. Keep your guard up, move your head and feet, use that jab to destroy him just like Joe did against Roy. Kick his ass. All the best mate.

Would firstly like to wish Ricky all the best in his upcoming fight, even though im a Manchester United fan, I have the upmost respect for the reigning light welterweight champion of the world. I am a huge fan, reading about Ricky getting some memorabilia from Vegas, all I hope is that he brings home a win, and set up a major mouth watering clash with Oscar De La Hoya.
