Kell Brook is turning to boxing science in a bid for physical perfection ahead of his showdown with Gennady Golovkin on September 10.
Brook (36-0-KO25), the reigning IBF welterweight champion, is preparing to challenge fellow undefeated fighter and WBA 'Super', IBF and WBC middleweight champion Golovkin (35-0-KO32) at The O2, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
It will be his first bout at middleweight and Brook is leaving nothing to chance in his training and preparation ahead of the move up in weight, undergoing a full sports science programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
High intensity conditioning, strength training and mobility and movement sessions are high on the agenda for the 30-year-old, who is aiming to become a two-weight world champion in London in just over two weeks.
Various forms of equipment are being used to track and enhance Brook's physical condition and the Sheffield-born fighter says he is reaping the benefits.
"Instead of feeling it, you are seeing it in numbers. I am feeling much faster and stronger, I am lifting heavier weights and the speed is going with the heavy weights as well," Brook told Sky Sports News HQ.
"From my core, to my legs to all my body, I am feeling really strong and durable. I am able to push myself."
