Gennady Golovkin says he is "100 per cent ready" for his most difficult fight yet against Canelo Alvarez in September.

The world's top two middleweights faced off in London on Monday at the start of a promotional tour to publicise their September 16 contest.

And a respectful Golovkin told Sky Sports News HQ he is anticipating a night of high drama when he defends his IBF, WBC and WBA 'super' titles in Las Vegas.

"This is the biggest challenge, the biggest fight of my career," the unbeaten Kazakh said. "I'm very excited.

"It's a huge fight for us, not just for us I think for everybody. Right now there's an amazing reaction - people understand it's a huge fight.

"I believe he's ready 100 per cent. I promise I'm ready 100 per cent, too. This is a big, dramatic fight because he is a huge fighter, I'm a champion. This is a big gift to people."
