Takam has replaced the injured Kubrat Pulev and Nelson not only thinks he will be ready to spring a surprise but also wonders what impact it will have on the champion.

"Fighters get spooked by silly little things, like not being the last man out of the changing room, not putting their boots on properly, things like that," he told Sky Sports News.

"I think this could be spookier for Joshua.

"When you get an opponent in at the last minute you know that if you are at the top of the tree, they know what you're like, what you're good at."

Nelson went to Paris to see Takam the day after he was confirmed as the replacement mandatory.

"If he (Takam) had more notice, I think this would've been a harder fight than Pulev," Nelson said.

"He's an attacking fighter, he's very cool, very calm and very matter of fact, and he's not intimidated by it all.

"Yes, he's frustrated he hasn't had more notice for this particular fight, but he says 'you will see what I can do'."
