So, what next for Lucas Matthysse?
The Argentine banger is the hottest topic in town after his two minute, 26 second icing of Mike Dallas Jr in Las Vegas at the weekend.
It means 31 of his 33 wins have come inside the distance. This is not death by a thousand cuts. More often than not it is down to one punch power.
Dallas Jr will go along with that. Matthysse may not have that fastest hands around but Dallas didn't see the short right hand to the temple that knocked him cold.
And therein lies Matthysse's problem. He spent the early part of his career knocking out opponents in Argentina. By the time he hit the US the secret was out.
The 30-year-old believes darker forces are at work. His two losses came on points - to Zab Judah in 2010 and Devon Alexander seven months later. Both results were close, and highly contentious.
Since then, the big names have been hard to pin down. Despite five successive wins (all by KO - of course) and the 'interim' WBC light-welterweight title, his paymasters at Golden Boy are still not sure what to do with him.
They also have Danny Garcia - the current 'full' WBC and WBA champion - on their books, as well as Amir Khan. One thing is for sure, Matthysse won't be matched with Amir.
The trouble is Lucas wants Garcia next. As 'interim' champion he believes it's his right. Golden Boy want a fight between the two big punchers to stew for a while longer.
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer wants to match Matthysse with countryman Marcos Maidana in an all-Argentine war. The problem is Maidana has moved up to welterweight and Matthysse wants no part of it.
But Matthysse will have to wait for his shot at Garcia anyway. The New Yorker has just put his fight against Judah back to April 27 after suffering an injury in training. That means he probably won't be ready to fight again until late summer, when a lucrative rematch with Khan will loom.
So Lucas will need to stay busy after Saturday's whitewash. Maybe he gets a shot at the winner of Lamont Peterson vs Kendall Holt (Feb 22) for the IBF strap. Or how about the winner of Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado, who re-match their Fight of the Year on March 30.
Matthysse can't be shackled for much longer. The secret is most definitely out - and we should be thankful for that.
