Kell Brook has dismissed suggestions he is finished as a welterweight and welcomed the idea of defending his IBF crown against Errol Spence.

Brook (36-0-KO25) is currently preparing for a stunning shot at world middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovin on September 10 - live on Sky Sports Box Office - but still took the time to assess the threat posed by his own mandatory challenger.

American Spence (21-0-KO18), 26, was in phenomenal form over the weekend; moving into the No 1 challenger position by becoming the first man to stop Leonard Bundu. But Brook remains unfazed.

Errol Spence would be a big fight and he's tipped to do great things. There would be big interest in me fighting him.

In an interview reported on ESPN.com, 'The Special One' said: "I think I will defend my title again but it all depends on what is the biggest fight out there for me. I'm not going back just to fight anyone, I want to fight people the fans are excited about.

"I want to be in huge fights. I've become world champion and now I get excited by fighting the best out there, so I will only go the weight where the big fights are.

Errol Spence is making himself unavoidable in every way

"Errol Spence would be a big fight and he's tipped to do great things. There would be big interest in me fighting him in the US and he's my mandatory so that's a fight that could happen. If people want to see that fight, I will do it."
