Isaac Chamberlain hopes to edge closer to a British cruiserweight title fight by extending his unbeaten record next month.

The Brixton fighter completed a career-best victory over Wadi Camacho last September, despite suffering a dislocated shoulder in the third round at York Hall, Bethnal Green.

Chamberlain returns to the same venue for his next fight on March 17, with an opponent to be confirmed, and is working towards a shot at the British belt, which is being contested by Matty Askin and Craig Kennedy a week earlier.

I'll be studying that fight and trying to look for the flaws that they both have, and try to exploit that.

"I will be looking at that fight very closely," Chamberlain told Sky Sports. "I'll be studying that fight and trying to look for the flaws that they both have, and try to exploit that.

"I'm probably two fights away. That would be a good thing to do, but right now I'm focusing on my own progression, because I believe if I work hard and everything is 100 per cent in my training, then I don't think anyone can beat me.

"It's just all about progressing at this stage of my career. I'm still learning, but with the wins I've had so far, that's boosted me right up."

The 22-year-old's exciting clash with Camacho led to calls for a rematch, but Chamberlain was angered by his rival's comments on social media and wants to progress his career against a different opponent.

"I only fought him because he had a title and was No 8 in the country," said Chamberlain. "I beat him and got his title. I would only be doing him a favour. That's why they are pushing for a rematch, because really where can he go from me?

"I was trying to defend him on social media, but he said I would rather vacate than fight him. The Southern Area belt is not a world title, he's living in his own world. I think it's time for him to retire. I'm past that level."

A vociferous crowd watched Chamberlain's win over Camacho and he hopes to draw an even larger support to east London.

"This one is going to have a lot more fans than before," he said. "It's going to be a real bear pit, with people screaming and chanting, going crazy again. We'll make it rock.

"I'm trying to be the best cruiserweight that Britain has ever had and I'm doing everything in my power to make that happen."
