Ahead of his Commonwealth title fight, David Allen talks about a training camp with Wladimir Klitschko, table tennis, cream crackers and Cleethorpes beach.
The Doncaster heavyweight takes on Lenroy Thomas for the Commonwealth heavyweight belt on the Kell Brook-Errol Spence Jr bill in Sheffield on May 27, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
But away from the ring, Allen has gained a cult following due to his light-hearted approach to life, so we found out more about 'The White Rhino'.
I would be a male dancer. Would I be based in Doncaster? Nope, I would go worldwide I would imagine.
Well, to be honest I could have been a professional in nearly every sport going. I'm the best table tennis player in boxing.
I go down to Doncaster bowling alley to play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8-9pm. Anyone who wants a game, come down the bowling alley.
Cream crackers and cheese. When I was a kid I used to have the same meals every day. I had bran flakes for breakfast, a school dinner, and a rabbit when I got home, and then six cream crackers and cheese at night. I had that every day for about seven years.
On Tuesday I had it off school, so I could go and hunt rabbits with my Dad and Grandad.
Pingu the film.
Cleethorpes beach. If it was up to me and I was a millionaire, I would stage a fight somewhere like that and use my purse of £15million to let people in for free and have bouncy castles everywhere.
Anthony Joshua. When I first sparred Anthony five years ago, I said to him 'me and you are going to happen one day'. I'm not so sure now. It's definitely not impossible, because I see myself as world level.
Yes, I stayed in Wlad's villa, it was fantastic. That's where I first met Dillian Whyte. We fought each other a year and half after that.
Wladimir was an absolute gent and I liked him that much, I wanted him to beat Anthony Joshua.
The facilities are unbelievable, the camp was awe inspiring and it was a fantastic three days...before I was sent home. They told me to box like Kubrat Pulev and I said I didn't want to get knocked out, so they sent me home.
No, not live. I have to ring her straight after I box and tell her the result. She knows about this fight, but she's not bothered. My Dad will be there and says 'you'll never be as good a fighter as me son!'
Seven. Win Commonwealth title, then win British title. Defend that a few times, then European and world title. By day I'm David Allen - a normal man living a normal man's dream, but by night I'm 'The White Rhino'.
It's going to be a bit like the end of the film 'Man On Fire'. I'll have just beaten Anthony Joshua and [promoter] Eddie Hearn will drive me off somewhere to deal me with me.
Watch Dave Allen on the Brook vs Spence Jr undercard, from Bramall Lane, Sheffield, May 27, live on Sky Sports Box Office. You can book the event online here.
