Amir Khan says a domestic stadium showdown with Kell Brook would be 'amazing'.

Amir Khan has revealed he would rather prioritise taking on Kell Brook than have a world title fight but will sit down with Eddie Hearn to discuss in greater detail the next step of his comeback.

The former world champion needed just 40 seconds to stop Phil Lo Greco at Liverpool's Echo Arena in his first fight since a knockout defeat to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in May 2016.

'King Khan' was watched ringside by Brook, who said he would 'destroy' his British counterpart should the long-awaited materialise, and with both fighters part of Hearn's Matchroom stable the prospect of a huge domestic fight has gained renewed momentum.

"I would rather look for those stadium fights instead of the world titles because I have won world titles in my career. I want to leave that legacy behind and fill out a stadium"

"In the next week or so, me and Eddie will sit down and see where we go from here," Khan told Sky Sports News.

"It would be nice to win another world title. It would be an amazing thing to do but at the same time it would be amazing to fill out a stadium and get someone like Kell Brook.

"I think a Kell Brook fight has to happen at 147Ibs. I really believe that fight could happen for a title but let's just wait to see what Eddie has to say about this. I am happy to fight him. Fighting a big name like Kell in England would be a massive fight, selling out a stadium would be amazing.

Kell Brook was in the ring minutes after Amir Khan's win over Phil Lo Greco, but who would win if they do meet?

Khan showed no signs of ring rust in his return to the ring and made easy work of his Canadian opponent in a display which showed off his renowned hand speed.

"I feel better now at 31 than I did when I was 28. I feel sharper and much more intelligent in the boxing ring. I am using the speed the right way now," he said.

Amir Khan described himself as a better and stronger fighter than Kell Brook who faced up against the Bolton fighter after his victory against Phil Lo Greco.

"Before I used to throw a combination from far away, I used to get caught from in-between but now I am much smarter.

"The only times I let my hands go a little wild are when I know I have hurt my opponent and I just want to get him out."

Kell Brook watched Amir Khan’s comeback victory against Phil Lo Greco and said he would destroy the Bolton man if they met in the ring.

Ahead of any potential showdown with his countryman, Khan is happy to take some time off with his family with his wife expecting a second child in the next week.

Khan said: "I am just going to enjoy this little break and [then] get back straight into the gym again.

"It is where I belong. I am 31 at the peak of my career and it is time to maximise everything."
