Heavyweight hope eyes English title

Heavyweight hope Tyson Fury has taken a swipe at John McDermott after the BBBC ordered the pair to meet for the English tite. The fight has to take place before the end of November, with purse bids ordered to be in for July 8. And the unbeaten 6ft 9in Fury has can't wait to step in the ring to face 'Big Bad' McDermott, who holds the English belt. "I've been looking for John McDermott for a while now," said Fury, who will defend his perfect knockout record at the York Hall, Bethnal Green on July 18 against a yet to be named opponent. "He's been offered the fight before but turned it down but now that the fight has been ordered by the Board he surely can't chicken out again. "They call him 'Big, Bad, John' and that certainly sums him up. He's a big lump and he's not very good but he has that English title and he's pushed Danny Williams close on a couple of occasions lately for the British title. "I think it's a natural eliminator for the British title so hopefully the Board will make it for a final eliminator as well as the English title."
