Edison Miranda is determined to use Saturday's showdown with Tony Bellew as a stepping stone to a fight with Carl Froch.
The explosive Colombian faces Bellew at Alexandra Palace - but it is Froch's IBF super-middleweight title that he has his sights on.
Miranda's record is littered with top class opponents, including Arthur Abraham, Andre Ward and Kelly Pavlik, but the fading 31-year-old wants to add another name to the list.
"It was a good victory for Froch against Lucian Bute but I know that if I knock out Tony Bellew, then Froch is the one who will be looking for me. I want to fight Froch," he said.
"Carl Froch against me is one of the best fights you will ever see.
"I am here to fight hard, to put up a good show and to take a KO win home with me. Then Froch will take notice of what I am doing."
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Froch and Bellew, insists Miranda may get his wish if he impresses on Saturday.
"This is a big fight in front of a big audience. If Miranda did something, he'd put himself in the frame for a world title fight," Hearn said.
"Miranda's exciting, is a name and will always be around. One big win when you're Edison Miranda makes you a great opponent for a world champion."
