Khan has not fought on British shores for almost two years after heading to America to pursue his big-name rivals in the light-welterweight division.
The Bolton fighter has built up his reputation with US fight fans after a string of thrilling performances and he ended a two-fight losing streak with a dominant win over Carlos Molina in December.
Khan is yet to name an opponent, date and venue for the fight, but the former WBA and IBF champion will be roared on by his own fans as he continues his climb back to the top.
He tweeted: "Next fights in UK everyone after 2 years. Venue tba."
Former IBF lightweight champion Julio Diaz is thought to be a possible foe for Khan after reports suggested that Vyacheslav Senchenko, Juan Manuel Marquez, Humberto Soto, Tim Bradley, Josesito Lopez and Jessie Vargas had all turned down a fight.
Khan's last bout in the UK was an ugly stoppage win over Paul McCloskey in April 2011 and he will be hoping to mark his return with an explosive victory.
