Harrison revived his career last month with his second triumph in the Prizefighter heavyweight tournament and the 41-year-old still retains hope he can win a world title.
But the Olympic gold medallist may firstly have to get past Wilder as it is thought a fight between the pair is being planned for the undercard of the Amir Khan-Julio Diaz bill in Sheffield on April 27.
Harrison insists he is yet to finalise a deal, without naming his opponent, but is hopeful the fight can be made.
He tweeted: "No secrets in boxing eh! I have AGREED to take fight with 5 weeks notice. We're close, hopefully we get there on all details. Nothing more."
The 27-year-old Wilder, who took bronze in the 2008 Olympics, has won all of his 27 fights by knockout, but is yet to face one of the division's top contenders.
Harrison was knocked out inside a round when he faced another dangerous puncher in the form of David Price, but a win over Wilder would add real momentum to his latest comeback.
