Paul Smith is confident he can exploit Arthur Abrahams’ weaknesses when he challenges the German for his WBO super-middleweight title in Kiel, Germany on September 27.

Smith’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed via Twitter that he has secured the Liverpool super-middleweight his first world title shot, with the 31-year-old pencilled in to challenge Abrahams at the Sparkassen-Arena.

And Smith, who has 35 wins and three losses in his 11-year professional career, believes he has the right package to beat 34-year-old Abrahams.

“I am thrilled that the fight with Arthur Abraham has been confirmed,” Smith said. “Arthur is a great champion, a real gentleman and a brilliant ambassador for the sport.

Hearn added: “This is a huge opportunity for Paul and one that he and his trainer Joe Gallagher have asked me to deliver for them.

“The styles blend well, it’s going to be a cracking fight and UK fans should head to Kiel on September 27 with a number of other Matchroom fighters on the bill.
