Promoter Eddie Hearn says Jamie McDonnell will have a rematch with Tomoki Kameda for the WBA bantamweight title in Texas next month.
The duo will lock horns in Texas once again on 6 September after McDonnell claimed a dramatic victory in their first fight in May.
The Doncaster man was knocked down in the third round by the Japanese fighter but got off the canvas and managed to keep his title after winning a unanimous points decision.
That was a first defeat of Kameda’s career but he will now get his chance for revenge, although McDonnell has not tasted defeat himself since 2008.
He got the verdict on all three cards in the first fight but only by the narrow margin of 114-113.
The card is also set to feature the return of former WBC super-middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell, who will take on Mexico’s Marco Antonio Rubio in his first fight since losing his title to Badou Jack.
