Pt V - I'm now holding back as the Brits arrive in force

The hard work's done. Training is all wrapped up and all that is left for me to do was weigh-in ahead of Saturday's heavyweight unification title clash with Wladimir Klitschko. More of that next time! I did a couple of technical boxing sessions this week, the first on Tuesday and the second on Thursday, and felt great during both. We worked a little on positioning and visualising what will likely happen on the night. I started by doing some shadowboxing and then progressed into pad-work, before finishing with some skipping. I must have done around eight or ten rounds in total, and it was a breeze to get through. If anything, my biggest fear was doing too much. I had to be extra wary of not punching too hard or fast and made sure I kept a lid on things. It doesn't do you any good to go all-out in training this close to the fight. You want to save up all your best stuff for the night of the fight. In terms of my mindset right now, I'm just in seek and destroy mode. It becomes hard restraining yourself in training when you feel the way I do right now. Not only am I physically primed to throw copious amounts of leather at someone, I have also now got the mindset and evil streak that comes with that. I've been looking forward to chinning Wladimir Klitschko for three years now, and my anticipation levels are at an all-time high. I'm itching to get in the ring with him, and it's actually frustrating to be shadowboxing and doing pad-work without really being able to unload the way I'd want to. The session on Thursday night was particularly difficult, as everything was there - the punches, the moves, the openings - and yet it all had to be done in half measures. Rest assured, though, on Saturday night, Wladimir will be getting the full treatment. There will be no holding back. My taste my battle only furthered in these past 24 hours, as I've realised the extent of the British support behind me. While I've received a lot of love from the German fans in Hamburg in recent days, it was extra special to walk through the city and see so many English fans stopping me and wishing me luck. I couldn't believe the amount of Union Jack flags and Hayemaker t-shirts I saw while I on my daily walk through town. We're all expecting a phenomenal atmosphere at the fight, and I'm sure the noise at the weigh-in will be just as loud. Klitschko will not know what has hit him. He's so used to having things his own way and keeping everything under control, we have deliberately flipped the game on him. I will not be controlled by Klitschko and I will not bow to his demands. This is a battle, a fight and a contest with everything on the line. We have both spent our entire career working towards this moment, and there is no time, or need, for handshakes and jokes. We are not politicians, public speakers, doctors or teachers. Wladimir and I are fighters, supposedly born and bred. If Wladimir doesn't like the way I go about my business, he needs to find another business to be a part of. There is no moral high ground to take in the fight game. That, I believe, will be the difference between us on Saturday night. I have relished upsetting Klitschko in the build-up to this fight. While he's tried turning each of our meetings into an episode of the Morecambe and Wise Show, I have only ever been interested in Wladimir for one reason. I want to step inside the ring with him and destroy his career. I want to exit the Imtech Arena with his head, his belts and a future fight with his brother Vitali.
