Tony Bellew caused a shock by claiming a stoppage victory over former WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye at The O2 Arena on Saturday.

Bellew claimed an 11th round win over an injury-stricken Haye, who was hampered by a suspected Achilles injury from the sixth round onwards, with the 36-year-old's trainer Shane McGuigan throwing in the towel.

'Bomber', the reigning WBC world cruiserweight champion and fighting at heavyweight for the first time, was also hampered by injury during the bout after sustaining a broken right hand in the second round.

Haye had looked in good shape prior to sustaining the injury but was forced to continue effectively on one leg and was subjected to a barrage of punches from Bellew in the later rounds.
