•

    Over 29 Sehwag 0-1-1-0-1-0

147-2 - Sehwag replaces Harbhajan and concedes three runs in the form of more singles. Sanga is approaching his fifty as he moves on to 43, while Samaraweera is not far behind on 39. The partnership is now worth 70 runs.

  •

    Over 28 Sreesanth 0-1-0-0-0-1

144-2 - Sreesanth rejoins the attack and it's a tidy offering as just two runs come off the over. Sanga gets one by driving to Sehwag who is sweeping on the cover boundary, while Samaraweera gets the other with a cramped pull to fine leg.

  •

    Over 27 Harbhajan 2-1-0-4-0-1

142-2 - A rare boundary to go with the one's and two's as Sanga shimmys down the crease and lofts the ball over midwicket. Great shot by the Sri Lankan skipper.

  •

    Over 26 Yuvraj 1-0-1-1-1-1

134-2 - Another over laced with singles as the required run rate rises to 6.08.

  •

    Over 25 Harbhajan 2-0-0-1-1-0

129-2 - Sanga and Samaraweera continue to rotate the strike with relative comfort at the half-way stage of the innings. India need another wicket here as a steady platform is being built by the Sri Lankan pair.

  •

    Over 24 Yuvraj 1-0-1wd-1wd-1-0-1

125-2 - Yuvraj Singh enters the attack and a string of singles coupled with two wides account for five off the over.

  •

    Over 23 Harbhajan 0-2-0-0-1-1

120-2 - Comparatively better over for India as four runs come off it. Sri Lanka now need 160 from 27 overs. They are currently going at 5.21 runs to the over, while the required rate is 5.92. Anyone's game at this stage.

  •

    Over 22 Jadeja 1-0-4-1-0-3

116-2 - The runs are starting to flow as nine come off the over. Besides two singles, Sanga finds the fence with a handsome loft over midwicket, while Samaraweera adds three more by opening the face and guiding the ball into the covers.

  •

    Over 21 Harbhajan 1-1-1-1-1-1

107-2 - Harbhajan concedes a string of singles as the Sri Lankan pair are looking increasingly comfortable at the wicket. Their partnership is worth 30 runs at the moment.

  •

    Over 20 Jadeja 4-0-1-2-1-0

101-2 - Another good over for the islanders as eight runs come off it to bring up the 100. Samaraweera is in fine form here as gets a boundary with a superb late cut, which finds the gap between backward point and cover-point.

  •

    Over 19 Harbhajan 0-0-1-4-2-1

93-2 - Singh gets a change of ends and is less effective as eight runs come off the over. Four of those came courtesy of Samaraweera's clever paddle, which sent the ball to the fine leg fence. Sri Lanka are currently going at 4.89 runs to the over, with the required rate having risen to 6.03.

  •

    Over 18 Jadeja 0-0-4-0-0-0

85-2 - Ravindra Jadeja enters the attack and concedes a boundary as Samaraweera waits patiently before opening the bat and cheekily guiding the ball past slip to the vacant third man fence. Great shot.

  •

    Over 17 Sehwag 1-1-0-1-1-0

81-2 - It is spin at both ends now as Sehwag opens his account. Just four singles come off the over as Samaraweera gets off the mark with a push down to long-on.

  •

    Over 16 Harbhajan 0-0-0-W-0-0

77-2 - Harbajan Singh enters the attack and strikes immediately as he gets the WICKET of Tharanga. The right-arm off-spinner catches Tharanga off his own bowling - his 17th caught and bowled in ODI cricket. Tharanga departs for 30 and is replaced by Thilan Samraweera. Great maiden wicket by Harbhajan who is getting healthy turn and bounce off a good length.

  •

    Over 15 Sreesanth 2-0-0-1-1-1

77-1 - Tharanga stretches his arms and drives a wide delivery into the covers. A misfield in the deep turns one into two. He collects another single with a guide through the covers. Sanga then opens the face and steers the ball to third man for a single, with Tharanga doing the same off the final delivery. Good controlled batting as the players take time out for a brief drinks break.

  •

    Over 14 Khan 1-0-0-1-0-1

72-1 - Khan continues and it's another fine over as the Sri Lankan pair are restricted to working the ball around the wicket for just three singles.

  •

    Over 13 Sreesanth 0-0-0-0-4-0

69-1 - Massive appeal for lbw as Sreesanth wraps Sanga on the pads with a slower one. The umpire Simon Taufel, however, correctly keeps his arms at his side as the ball was sliding down leg. Sanga then gets a four with a mistimed pull, which just clears mid-off.

  •

    Over 12 Khan 0-0-1-0-0-0

65-1 - Khan is given a chance to redeem himself with the benefit of protection. He responds well as Sanga gets the only single with a straight drive. Much better line by the left-armer, who was offering far too much width in his opening spell.

  •

    Over 11 Sreesanth 1wd-0-1-0-0-1-0

64-1 - The bowling Power Play is taken as Sreesanth concedes three runs from the over, including a wide. Sri Lanka are going nicely here at 5.81 runs to the over, while the required rate is 5.53.

  •

    Over 10 Nehra 0-1wd-0-1wd-0-1nb-4-2

61-1 - Sanga gets off the mark with a cut over the inner ring which finds the fence. He adds another two by working the ball through the midwicket gap on the onside. It is an uncharacteristically sloppy over by Nehra as he bowls two wides and a no-ball.

  •

    Over 9 Sreesanth 0-0-W-0-0-4

52-1 - WICKET! Sreesanth gets the breakthrough as Thirimanne skies an attempted pull to Gambhir who takes a comfortable catch at square leg. Sreesanth leaves for 22 and is replaced by his skipper Kumar Sangakkara. Tharanga brings the fifty up with a boundary as he steers the ball square of backward point. Great timing.

  •

    Over 8 Nehra 0-0-0-1-0-0

48-0 - Another good over by Nehra as Thirimanne gets the only run with a drive to the left of mid-off. Could have been a chance of a run-out there had Zaheer not been off balance when firing in towards the stumps.

  •

    Over 7 Sreesanth 4-4-0-4-1-0

47-0 - Khan is punished for his wayward display and is replaced by Sreesanth. Unfortunately for India, it's more of the same as Thirimanne finds the fence thrice with three superb cover drives. Real effortless stuff by the left-hander.

  •

    Over 6 Nehra 0-1-0-0-0-1

34/0 - Nehra continues to impress as he is getting good lateral movement. He beats the outside edge of Thirimanne on three occassions and looks good for a wicket here.

  •

    Over 5 Khan 0-1wd-4-0-5wd-1-4-1

31-0 - Expensive over for India as 16 runs come off it. Thirimanne gets his first boundary with a superb square drive between point and cover. Khan guilty of overpitching there and it gets worse for the left-armer as he delivers a horrific wide down leg side, which finds the fine-leg fence. Tharanga then adds another four with a crushing cut through the offside. He rolled the wrists nicely to keep the ball down.

  •

    Over 4 Nehra 0-0-0-0-0-4

16-0 - Nearly a maiden for the impressive Nehra, but Tharanga spoils the party by getting an edge which flies to the fence as third man is slightly too square.

  •

    Over 3 Zaheer 0-0-0-1-0-2

12/0 - Zaheer bounces back from his expensive opener as just three runs come off the over. The debutant Thirimanne gets off the mark rather fortuitously as he slashes hard and gets a thick outside edge, which Sreesanth does well to prevent from crossing the rope. Nevertheless, it's still two runs added onto the total.

  •

    Over 2 Nehra 0-0-0-0-1-0

9/0 - Ashish Nehra opens from the other end and it's a tidy start as just a single comes off the over.

  •

    Over 1 Zaheer 0-1wd-4-0-0-0-3

8-0 - Sri Lanka's openers Upal Tharanga and Lahiru Thirimanne get off to a good start as eight runs come off Zaheer Khan's opening over. Tharanga gets off the mark with a boundary as he plants the foot and aggressively chips the inner ring towards the cover fence.

  •

SRI LANKA NEED 280 TO WIN

If it weren't for a horrible batting collapse India might have been in an even more dominant position here. Still, 279 is a good score and Sri Lanka are without Dilshan so it'll take a huge effort from them to actually get this total. They struggled yesterday to get 260. Join us in 45 minutes to see how they respond.

  •

    Over 50 Thushara 0-W-1-1-2b-0

279-9 WICKET! Indian collapse at the end. Jadeja tries to pull a slower one but it's hit straight to the man at the edge of the circle. Sreesanth strolls out to the middle, he is wearing glasses with the helmet on and all. He's off the mark with a single, Nehra takes one more and two byes wrap up the Indian innings.

  •

    Over 49 Thushara 2-0-0-0-1-2

275-7 A couple towards long-off starts off the over - Jadeja nearly picked out the fielder there. A single towards midwicket with a rash slog sweep and a couple towards long-off for Nehra makes for another subdued over.

  •

    Over 48 Welegedara W-0-0-0-1-1

270-8 WICKET! Five for Welegedara. Zaheer tries to make room for himself and he opens his stumps wide up, the ball goes crashing through him and into the furniture. Kaching! Just two singles from the over but this is still looking a pretty good total.

  •

    Over 47 Thushara W-1-1-1-0-1

268-7 WICKET! Thushara makes up for that terrible previous over by taking a wicket first up. Ridiculous shot by Bhajji - moves across way too early and he goes after a full and wide one, he gets it up in the air and straight to point instead. Four singles are added to the total - but these wickets have really helped, things could have been so very different and Raina stuck arou

  •

    Over 46 Welegedara 1-1-1lb-1-w-0

264-6 Singles start off the over before Raina is sent packing! WICKET Yorker and Raina fails to dig it out, swings in and bye bye stumps. Bhajji is out there now - and he is off the mark with a single towards mid-off.

  •

    Over 45 Thushara 4-6-4-4-1-1

259-4 Thusrhara returns to the attack and it's definitely not a happy one. Jadeja decides to have a crack and starts off the over with four towards mid-on and then follows it up with six - slapped over mid-off. He takes four more off the next ball - flicked fine and then four more towards extra cover. Flurry of boundaries there. Two singles wrap up the over and that's 20 runs from it. The score is looking much better for India suddenly.

  •

    Over 44 Welegedara 1-1-1-4-5wd-1-1

239-4 BATTING POWERPLAY has been taken. Finally. A few singles start off the over before Raina adds four by opening the face of the bat and getting one fine towards short third man. Five come off the next over as a yorker goes wayward . Two singles conclude the over so runs coming in quick succession now.

  •

    Over 43 Randiv 1-1-0-1-0-0

225-4 Just three singles from the over. India have been so reserved, Bangladesh scored 260 here yesterday.

  •

    Over 42 Perera 4-wd-1-1-0-0-0

222-4 A four slapped towards mid-on by Raina and then a wide starts off the over. Two singles follow to take India to double Nelson. It's been a very reserved and mature innings by India, can't see how Sri Lanka are going to enjoy batting here later. Mind you, they batted second last night and the bowling side had a tough time with the dew.

  •

    Over 41 Randiv 1-0-1-0-1-1

215-4 Just singles from the over - four of them to be exact as Randiv retruns. When are the governing bodies of world cricket going to wake up and realize just how meaningless and tedious these random one-day tournaments can be? Especially with Test cricket like the England tour of SA and event he Pakistan tour of Australia on the go.

  •

    Over 40 Perera 0-2-0-1-0-4

211-4 A couple square of third man and then a single towards sweeper cover. Four off the final ball, from Raina again. Got under it and slapped it towards point.

  •

    Over 39 Lakmal 0-4-0-1-0-1

204-4 Raina sends four towards the point fence, short and wide and slapped away deservedly. A couple singles follow and the 200 is up for India in that over.

  •

    Over 38 Perera 1-1-0-1-W-0

198-4 A few singles start off the over before there's some relief for Sri Lanka. WICKET! Yuvraj perishes! Perera bounces one and Yuvraj tries to dig it out but fails and Lakmal takes a simple catch on the fence. Yuvraj walks off looking at his bat accusingly.

  •

    Over 37 Lakmal 1-wd-0-0-0-1-2

173-4 A single and a wide starts off the over - there's some controversy later on as Raina gets an edge to one which goes through and is taken by Sanga - he claims it and Raina is given out initially but he doesn't walk away too fast, Replays show it might have bounced and it's eventually referred upstairs - the third umpire has a look and that didn't actually carry. Raina gets to stay.

  •

    Over 36 Perera 0-0-0-2-1-1

190-4 A couple for Raina, worked towards deep midwicket and then a single apiece makes it two from the over.

  •

    Over 35 Perera 0-3-1-4-0-0

171-4 Yuvraj take three with a square drive and Raina follow sup with a single down the ground. Yuvraj gets four more towards extra cover - how long before these two start letting loose properly in order to pile on as many runs as possible?

  •

    Over 34 Perera 0-0-0-4-1-0

171-4 Yuvraj takes a four, creamed through extra cover and then a single. These ODIs are so predictable, when will the governing bodies get a bit more creative?

  •

    Over 33 Thushara 2-0-0-0-0-0

173-4 Just two runs from the over - Raina works it away to point and takes a quick couple.

  •

    Over 32 Perera 0-W-0-1-0-0

171-4 WICKET! Ha! That partnership is dislodged at 99 - Shane Watson has made the 90s cool again. Dhoni goes after a short one and ends up getting a thick outside edge to it - Sanga dives and takes the catch. Zing! A single, a shout for leg before (which pitched in line and hawkeye reckons was out) and Raina tried to steal the legbye which almost resulted in a run out but Sri Lanka failed to get the direct hit in. When did Raina get all that junk in his trunk?

  •

    Over 31 Samaraweera 0-1-1-2-1-1

170-3 Six runs from the over as the two men in the middle continue to jog along briskly and add runs to the total at a steady pace.

  •

    Over 30 Kandamby 1-wd-6-6-0-0-1

164-3 A single starts off the over before Kandamby bags one wide. Yuvraj must be getting frustrated, though. A full toss is whacked right over the fence for the max and the next one is dispatched in the same manner. Yuvi take a single off the final ball but that's a huge over - 15 from it.

  •

    Over 29 Samaraweera 0-0-1-1-4-0

149-3 A few singles start off the over before Yuvi hammers four through midwicket. He's such a powerful man and he makes it look so easy.

  •

    Over 28 Kandamby 0-0-0-0-0-0

143-3 So after a dreadfully slow start - the slower bowlers are now rocketing through the overs. It's maiden for Kandamby.

  •

    Over 27 Randiv 0-0-0-1-0-0

143-3 Just a single from the over - off Dhoni's blade as he tucks it towards midwicket.

  •

    Over 26 Kandamby 0-1-2-0-1-1

142-3 India are content to just run between the wickets to keep the runs coming. Yuvi isn't actually looking all that interests in playing.

  •

    Over 25 Randiv 0-0-0-1-1-1

137-3 - Randiv continues to stifle the Indian pair as three singles come off the over. Just fifteen runs have come from his five overs so far.

  •

    Over 24 Kandamby 1-0-0-1lb-1-0

134-3 - Thilina Kandamby enters into the attack and just three runs come off the over. Decent start by the spinner.

  •

    Over 23 Randiv 0-1-0-2-0-0

131-3 - Another neat over by Randiv as just three runs come off it. Sri Lanka will, however, be keen to break this partnership, which is worth 60 runs at the moment.

  •

    Over 22 Lakmal 4-0-1-0-4-1

128-3 - Better by India as Singh and Dhoni both find the fence to extract 10 runs from off the over. Singh gets his boundary by latching onto a wide delivery, which he cracks past deep extra cover, while Dhoni finds the rope with a brutal cut through the off-side.

  •

    Over 21 - Randiv 1-0-0-0-0-1

118-3 - Randiv continues and just two singles come off the over. India will be keen to up the pace here as the run-rate has now slipped to 5.61.

  •

    Over 20 Lakmal 1-1-1-1-0-0

116-3 - Another slew of singles as four runs come off the over. Nice and tight by Lakmal who went for the yorker on the final ball, but Singh did well to dig it out.

  •

    Over 19 Randiv 0-0-0-0-0-4

112-3 - Nearly a maiden for Randiv but Dhoni spoils the party as he cuts a decent length ball past point to the fence.

  •

    Over 18 Thushara 1-2-w-1-1-1-1

108-3 - Thushara continues and the Indian pair work the ball around the wicket for a string of singles. Singh also got a two by turning a ball past midwicket, while Sri Lanka gifted yet another extra in the form of a wide. They really need to tighten up in that regard.

  •

    Over 17 Randiv 0-1-1-0-1lb-1

100-3 - Sangakkara opts for spin as Suraj Randiv is brought into the attack at the expense of Lakmal. Loud lbw shout against Singh but the umpire is not interested. The batsman got a good stride in and the ball may have been sliding down leg. Dhoni brings up the 100 with a single off the final ball.

  •

    Over 16 Thushara 0-0-0-4-2-1

96-3 - Handsome boundary by Singh who lofts the ball over midwicket with a commanding on-drive. He adds two more with an aggressive cut which is well cut off in the deep, before grabbing a single off the final delivery. Singh appears to be gaining in confidence here.

  •

    Over 15 Lakmal 1-0-1-1-0-0

89-3 - Another tight over by Lakmal as just three runs come off it. Sri Lanka suffer an injury scare as Pushpakumara hurts his shoulder when diving in the field and receives some attention from the physio. He seems to be allright though.

  •

    Over 14 Thushara 0-0-4-1-0-0

86-3 - A modest over by Thushara as five runs come off it. Singh finally gets a boundary with a crisp drive wide of backward point. That should do his confidence some good, having scratched around a bit since getting to the wicket.

  •

    Over 13 Welegedara 1-0-0-0-0-w-0

81-3 - Welegedara continues and builds up the pressure with another tight over that yields just two runs - one of which was a wide. The runs have dried up here slightly although there are still plenty of overs left. The run-rate has dropped to 6.23.

  •

    Over 12 Thushara 0-1-0-0-0-1

79-3 - Another quiet over by India as just two singles come off it. Singh plays and misses at one outside the off-stump, offering some encouragement for the bowlers.

  •

    Over 11 Welegedara 0-0-0-0-0-1

77-3 - The Powerplay is taken and just one run comes off the over with Welegedara proving to be erratic yet effective. There was almost a run-out but a poor throw by Kandamby allowed Dhoni to scamper home after initially setting off for a quick single and then being sent back by Singh.

  •

    Over 10 Thushara 0-0-0-4-1-0

76-3 - Dhoni gets off the mark with a timed drive in front of point for four. Effortless by the Indian skipper. He adds another one with a push towards mid-off. At the 10 over mark, India are going at a healthy run-rate of 7.60, although they will be concerned with the loss of wickets.

  •

    Over 9 Welegedara 0-0-0-W-0-0

71-3 - WICKET!Welegedara strikes again as he removes the dangerous Sehwag. Sehwag departs for 47, having got a leading edge, which lobbed up comfortably to Thirimanne at mid-off. Massive scalp for Sri Lanka, which brings MS Dhoni to the wicket.

  •

    Over 8 Thushara 4-0-2-0-0-1

71-2 - Change of bowler as Thilan Thushara is brought into the attack. Seven runs come off the over, with Sehwag finding the fence with a scoop over cover point. He is now three runs short of a fifty, having only faced 27 deliveries.

  •

    Over 7 Welegedara 4-1-4-nb-nb4-1-W-w-w-0

64-2 - WICKET! Eventful over as there are three boundaries, two no-balls, a wide and a wicket. Despite the flurry of runs, Sri Lanka will be happy to have disrupted India's momentum by removing Kohli, who edged to Sangakkara when attempting to steer the ball to third man. Great reflex take by the wicketkeeper. Kohli departs for nine and is replaced by Youvraj Singh. Earlier in the over, Kohli brought up the team fifty with a defensive push past the bowler for four. Quick outfield here.

  •

    Over 6 Lakmal 1-0-1-4-4-4

46-1 - Another big over for India as Sehwag finds the fence thrice. The first time, he clubs a short, passive delivery over midwicket for four. Poor ball, which deserved Sehwag's brutal contempt. The second one, he slashes powerfully and gets a fortuitous thick outside edge which runs to the vacant third man fence. The final boundary is an uppish cut over backward point, taking him to 31 off just 17 balls.

  •

    Over 5 Welegedara 0-0-1-4-0-nb3-1nb-1

32-1 - Kohli grabs a single before Sehwag keeps the scorboard ticking over a powerful strike past point for four. Lakmal then oversteps on two occassions. On the first one, Sehwag gets a hard-run three by squeezing out the yorker wide of midwicket. The Indian pair are only able to add singles from the two free hits. Expensive over nevertheless.

  •

    Over 4 Lakmal 0-4-1-0-0-1

20-1 - Sehwag finds the fence again with a smashing shot over square leg. Stand and deliver stuff. The opener adds a single with another steer to third man before Kohli gets off the mark with a clip behind square on the onside.

  •

    Over 3 Welegedara 0-2-4-1-1-W

14-1 - WICKET! Welegedara strikes as he clean bowls Gambhir with a superb yorker. Gamhir departs for eight and is replaced by Virat Kohli. Earlier in the over, Gambhir was threatening to cut loose as he collected two with a smart drive on the up before adding four more with a thunderous drive in the gap between cover and point. He then then dropped one on the onside for a quick single, before being put back on strike after Sehwag opened the face and steered the ball to third man for a comfortable single.

  •

    Over 2 Lakmal 0-0-0-1lb-0-0

6-0 - Suranga Lakmal opens from the other end and just one leg bye comes off the over as Gambhir and Sehwag scamper through for a quick single. Tidy start by the right-armer.

  •

    Over 1 Welegedara 0-0-1-0-4-0

5-0 - The lanky Chanaka Welegedara starts to Gambhir who gets off the mark with an edge, which falls just short of slip. That one leapt viciously off a length. Sehwag gets off the mark with a superb drive straight down the ground for four. Positive start by the typically explosive opener.

  •

    Game On

Sehwag, Gambhir, the Sri Lankan XI and the umpires are out in the middle and good to go.

  •

    Conditions

Opting to bowl first is a very wise decision. Dew will play a major role in the chase, while bowling in the sweltering sun is never an easy task. India could be in for a massive score here. Stick around for some theatrics, especially if super Sehwag gets into the swing of things.

    Greetings

Hello and welcome to our over-by-over coverage of the second match of the triangular series in Bangladesh. The hosts sit this one out as Sri Lanka and India lock horns in Dhaka.
