    West Indies struggling in the middle overs, as did Pakistan. A couple of runs to begin the over and then a single. Samuels on strike and he tries to hit it out of the ground and misses. Four runs from the over.

    Riaz starts with a good length deliver that just leaves Samuels. Simmons comes down the pitch and then swats it for four, to midwicket for four. Five runs from the over, the hosts are 57 for 3 after 19 overs.

    West Indies are slightly ahead of Pakistan at this stage. Hafeez replaces Junaid, Pakistan introducing spin. Just a single from the over West Indies 49 for 2.

    Riaz bowling to Bravo now into his 2nd over. A single from the first ball, and then a few dots and then a single again. Just a couple of singles from the over, almost the end of the over but the umpire calls that a wide ball for height. So two singles and one wide from the over.

    Wahab Riaz comes into the attack to replace Irfan. He was drifting down leg and is played for four to fine leg by Bravo. Another straighter one from Riaz, Bravo plays it on the leg side for a single. Samuels cuts it through point and Nasir Jamshed fails to stop it on the boundary. Riaz has dropped his pace to get a bit more control. A good over for West Indies, 9 from it.

    The batsmen are looking to play Junaid and Irfan out of the attack. But then they will have to contain with Afridi and Ajmal. A maiden from Junaid, West Indies 32 for 2 after 10.

    Irfan to continue with the required rate inching towards 5 runs per over. A big bouncer, called a wide. Bravo is a short man and Irfan is not, making the bouncer even bigger. A wide one from Irfan and Bravo gets good bat on it to hit it past point for four. A good shot, and not such a good ball from Irfan. Just the boundary from the over.

    The umpire signals one bouncer for the over, Junaid starts the over with it. Then follows it up with a wide down leg side. Runs from just the wide ball from the over, another good over from Pakistani fast bowlers.

    Irfan bowls and Bravo defends, then he angles it down to fine leg for a single. Another good over from Irfan, just a single from it.

    Junaid starts his 3rd over, Junaid and Irfan are a better bowling pair that Irfan and Ali. A wide called down leg. A huge shout for caught behind down the leg side, Akmal and Junaid really want a review. Umpire gives it not out, Misbah reviews, after Hafeez also calls for a review. Not given by the third umpire. A good ball from Junaid again, beating the outside edge. Samuels plays it straight down the ground for four to end the 6th over.

    Irfan is proving to be a handful here, good line and length and bounce. Four dot balls to start the over and then a single. Bravo runs it down to fine leg for a single, making it two from the over.

    Junaid continues, he should be more effective against the left handers. Bravo cuts it to third man and gets a couple of runs. Afridi had to make some ground to get there and cut it off. WICKET! Gayle gets an inside edge and the stumps are rattled. Gayle bowled and West Indies in trouble at 16 for 2. After 4 overs, West Indies 17 for 2.

    Shehzad at point makes a good stop. A couple of runs to Charles and then Ifran's bounce get him a wicket. WICKET! Charles commits himself to a nothing shot and edges it to Akmal behind the stump. Irfan gets an early wicket, again. Darren Bravo walks out to bat with Gayle. A wide down leg.

    Junaid Khan gets his first match of this series. A chance of a lbw against Gayle but the umpire thinks it is going down leg. Another shout for lbw, but there may have been an inside edge, Khan thinks of a review but does not go for it. Gayle drives it through the gap at cover, and the ball stops in the outfield, Gayle runs two. Khan does well to drift it into Gayle, who gets good bat on it. Gayle finds the boundary, drives it through the covers again.

    Gayle and Johnson to start for West Indies and the tall man, Irfan, with the ball for Pakistan. Good delivery to begin from Irfan. A decent start from Irfan, taking a few balls away from Gayle and then bringing on back into him. Gayle gets a single on the leg side to open his account. A drive, goes through Afridi at mid off, Charles gets a boundary.

    Innings break

    Pakistan finish their 50 overs with 229 for 6. Misbah playing the guiding role as usual and Umar Akmal providing some quick runs in the end. It is a good batting wicket but the outfield is slow. West Indies to bat next.

    Over 50 Pak 229/6 (U Akmal 40, Riaz 19)

    Pollard gets the final over, and he begins with a wide. A couple of singles from the next two balls. Swept away for a couple of runs and good running from Akmal. Then he edges it past the keeper for four. Pakistan end on 229 for 6 from their 50 overs.

    Bravo to bowl the second last over. Riaz hits it in the air and is safe, gets a couple, Akmal still off strike. Riaz hits it hard and over the covers, that's a six as it hits the rope directly. Another six from Riaz, a short ball and Riaz pulls this for six.

    Over 48 Pak 201/6 (U Akmal 30, Riaz 4)

    Akmal wants the strike so runs two and a slight fumble by the bowler means that Riaz is safe. The umpire gives one short so just one run in the end. Akmal tries to get another boundary, but finds the fielder. A short ball, the second one for the over, Akmal complaining it was too high and should be called a wide. Akmal gets another boundary, bringing up the 200 for Pakistan. A run for Akmal to keep strike for the next over.

    Riaz runs hard and wants a second but Akmal is not interested, just a single. Put away nicely into the gap for four, the grass is thick and outfield is slow, but Akmal gets a boundary through the covers. Another drive and another four from Akmal, same region. Another boundary, edges it deliberately for four past the short third man. A good over for the Pakistanis, Riaz runs it down to fine leg for a couple. 16 from the over.

    Holder comes back into the attack, Afridi gets a leading edge for a single. A swing and a miss from Afridi. WICKET! Afridi falls to the short ball, hoicks it to the fine leg boundary, and the man in the deep takes a good catch. Afridi out for one, Pakistan look like they will fall short of a good total here. Akmal places it into the gap on the leg side for a single. Wahab Riaz is the new man.

    It is a good throw but Misbah makes it safely, a direct hit would have been out. Misbah after getting a boundary off the first ball, gets a couple off the second. Bravo bowls a yorker and Misbah is undone. WICKET! Misbah gone for 75, Bravo aims at the stumps and Pakistan lose their captain. Afridi comes out to bat, Pakistan will be looking for 200 or more. Afridi does not connect this well and it goes up in the air but lands safely. A direct hit, Akmal thinks he is safe as he runs one more from to overthrow. Replays show Akmal was safe.

    Akmal gets a boundary from the first ball of the over, hit through mid off. 6 overs to go, Pakistan 168 for 4.

    Drifting down leg from Roach and Misbah plays it to fine leg. Three singles from three balls and then Gayle makes a good stop at cover, it was hit hard by Akmal and Gayle saves at least a couple of runs. After 43 overs, Pakistan 163 for 4.

    Narine continues, starts with a wide down leg and the batsmen run two. Just four from the over. Pakistan 156 for 4 after 42 overs.

    The end of the power play, Pakistan got 38 runs from 5 overs in the power play, the overall run rate has increased to 3.7 runs per over now. Bravo has a chat with Roach. Misbah goes over the top and the ball stops in the outfield again for two runs, Pakistan get to 150. WICKET! Pollard excellent at backward point taking a good catch to get rid of Sohail. Umar Akmal comes out to bat.

    Sohail gets it through the off side for a three runs, the slow outfield not helping the run scoring. Narine is in his 7th over and the wayward throw allows the batsmen to take three.

    Roach continues, and appeals for a caught behind but he was the only one appealing. The outfield is slow and Gayle stops it just before it reaches the boundary, the batsmen get 2 runs.

    Over 38 Pak 135/3 (Sohail 17, Misbah 57)

    Misbah leaves it down the leg side and Charles misses it, Simmons collects it at fine leg. Six, after a few blocks and dots, Misbah hits this over the field and out of the park for a six. A direct hit but the batsmen are safe. A good over for Pakistan, 10 runs from it.

    Misbah gets another 50, just pushing on the leg side for a single. Sohail drops the ball in the off side and tries to get a single, but Bravo at point denies it. A couple of runs for Sohail as he runs this down to fine leg. Sohail edges it over the vacant slip region for four to third man. Another good over for Pakistan, powerplay working in their favour so far.

    Time for the batting power play, which is invariably taken by teams from the 35th to 40th over. A couple of singles from Narine, who comes back to bowl in the power play. Sohail edges it past the vacant 2nd slip area for a boundary to third man. End of the 36th over, Pakistan 118 for 3.

    The drinks break has been postponed and Roach is back into the attack. A couple of singles from the first two balls of the Roach over. Misbah misses a couple, and then gets one through point for a couple of runs. Four from the over.

    Samuels rushing through is over, Sohail finally gets a single after 4 dots. After 34 overs, Pakistan are 106 for 3 and it is drinks.

    Bravo bowls a bouncer again, causing problems for Sohail. It even surprised Charles behind the stumps. Pakistan manage a single from that over.

    Samuels starts his second. Just three runs from the over, Pakistan 104 for 3.

    Misbah gets a couple of runs to bring up Pakistan's 100. The par score on this pitch is 248 runs, and Pakistan will feel confident if they get close to that. A slower one from Bravo and Misbah drives him down the ground for a single. After 31 overs, Pakistan are 101 for 3.

    Samuels comes into the attack, Misbah hits it to Sammy who does well to save a couple of runs. Sohail plays out the rest of the over, so just a single from it.

    Sammy to bowl his last over today. Sammy bowls another good over to finish his spell for the day, Sohail gets a single and Misbah gets two singles.

    WICKET! Bravo testing Hafeez with the bouncer and he top edges it to Sammy who makes no mistake. Hafeez gone for 14. Bravo welcomes the new man with a short ball, Sohail starts his debut. Sohail edges it but it falls short of slips. He runs it down the third man and gets a single to get off the mark.

    Misbah soldiering along on 29 as Sammy begins his 9th over. A couple of runs for Misbah, he is shuffling around in the crease, and then he plays it to fine leg for a boundary. A quiet 50 run partnership comes up for Misbah and Hafeez.

    Bravo brings himself into the attack, Misbah plays him to square leg for a single. A couple of bouncers from Bravo, the second one is called a wide.

    Misbah flicks it on it leg side but Gayle makes a good stop. Misbah then plays it away from Gayle and Hafeez wanted two, Misbah did not. A big shout for lbw and Sammy thought that was out. The umpire is not interested but there is DRS in this game so Sammy refers. West Indies lose their referral as the umpire's call stays. After 25 overs, Pakistan 81 for 2.

    Misbah blocks and few and then hits it out of the park for a six, typical batting from him. Then he follows it up with a single to get Hafeez back on strike. 9 from the Narine over, Pakistan 79 for 2.

    Sammy continues to bowl some containing bowling, bowling wicket to wicket and Hafeez plays it fine for a couple. There was a chance of a boundary as the ball rolled out of the hands of the fielder, but it is safe.

    Narine starts his 3rd over with a forward short leg. Narine, bowling outside the leg stump and bringing it in to Misbah who is not reading him well. Just a single from the over.

    Sammy gives away a single from the first ball, Misbah plays a few dots after that. The run rate is around 3 for Pakistan. After 21 overs, Pakistan are 66 for 2.

    Narine is played past square leg for a single. Then Misbah works him on the leg side for a couple of runs. Four singles from the over.

    Sammy continues, bowling with Narine at the other end. A couple of singles from the start of the over, and Sammy finishes his 5th.

    Sammy continues after the drinks break. Another quick and quiet over from Sammy. Just three from it.

    A quick single taken as Holder is slightly slow to collect the ball. Driven past point, just steers it away for four, a good shot from Misbah. After 16 overs, it is drinks and Pakistan are 51 for 2.

    Sammy continues, and finishes another quick over. Just a single from the over.

    Misbah is probably the right man for the job today, even if some supporters don't believe it. Junaid Khan playing instead of Ali today may be a good choice, especially because it is a good wicket to bat on. A couple of singles from the over.

    WICKET! Sammy gets a wicket, bowling slightly quicker and hurrying Jamshed into the shot who only manages a top edge and Roach takes a high catch. Pakistan lose their openers. Misbah comes out to bat, with Hafeez at the other end. A successful over for Sammy.

    Jamshed hits it against the air and towards the boundary only for a couple of runs. Great work from Roach on the boundary, it was a sure six otherwise, but Roach made sure he was inside the rope before he went over, he threw the ball in the air and took it after jumping inside. A great catch to get the WICKET of Shehzad. Hafeez comes out to bat. Good stop by Charles on the leg side. Pakistan lose their first wicket for 39 after 12 overs.

    Sammy comes in to bowl and Jamshed hits him over midwicket for a one bounce four. This is Sammy's home town so he will be supported. It is driven through the covers but will only be a couple because the outfield is slow, Shehzad gets two. Sammy finishes his first, Pakistan 36 for no loss after 11.

    Hit over the inner circle and the ball just drops death after bouncing, the outfield must be wet and slow. After the first power play Pakistan are 29 for no loss.

    A good over so far from Roach, five dots. This is a good surface to bat on and we should expect a high-scoring game. After 9 overs Pakistan 26 for no loss as Roach completes a maiden.

    Holder starts his 4th over with a wide. The outfields are slow, so the ball just stops after it is hit in the air by Shehzad. Dropped, Gayle drops one at first slip. Just four from the over and the drop from Gayle.

    No confidence in that appeal from Roach for lbw, it was drifting down leg. A quick single, slight hesitation, but they make it in the end even though it was a direct hit.

    A single from the second ball, and then the fifth ball goes for four. Shehzad who is looking in good touch today, plays it past point for four, it was back of length from Holder and Shehzed creates width and uses it to get the four.

    Another good over from Roach. Three runs from it. It is turning out to be good batting surface and rain has stayed away.

    Shehzad drives and drives well through the covers for four. Shehzad then plays it off his hips to square leg for a couple of runs. Shehzad hits it into the off side, but is unable to get it through the covers. After 4 overs Pakistan are 12 for no loss.
