    End of innings

Pakistan have finished with a massive total of 322, and will be confident of defending this successfully when play resumes shortly. Much of the innings hinged on Mohammad Hafeez, whose 7th ODI innings provided the backbone. There were flashy 50's from debutant Sharjeel Khan and another novice in Sohaib Maqsood, while Shahid Afridi provided some late fireworks with 34 off just 12 balls. It was a day to forget for the Sri Lankan bowlers. Lakmal took 2 wickets but at a fearful cost. Spinners Senanayake and Prasanna returned reasonable figures but were spared the carnage at the death as the seamers took a pounding. The target of 323 will need to be chased at a shade under 6.5 to the over.
