Pakistan will attempt to assuage visiting players' safety concerns by offering them insurance worth around £1.25m each to encourage them to participate in international matches in the country.
'Home' matches involving Pakistan have been played at neutral venues including Dubai and Abu Dhabi since 2009, when the Sri Lanka team bus was attacked in Lahore.
Six Pakistani policemen and a driver were killed and five players were wounded, leading to a suspension of international matches in the country.
But cricket authorities are keen for cricket to return, with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf confirming the insurance package.
"We are taking all steps to revive international cricket here and everyone should feel proud about the efforts we have made in this regard," he said.
"(People) are afraid that they would be subjected to a shoot-out as soon as they come out of the airport.
"There is lot of effort required to change this perception because things are definitely not so bad here."
