Kent have confirmed the signing of Sri Lanka leg spinner Malinga Bandara as their overseas player for the second half of the 2010 season.
Bandara will team up with the Spitfires from late May and will initially share the overseas role with Australian Stuart Clark.
Kent director of cricket Paul Farbrace worked with the 30-year-old while assistant coach for Sri Lanka and he is thrilled with the signing.
Farbrace told the club's official site: "I'm absolutely delighted that such a high quality cricketer has chosen to join Kent.
"I'm thrilled at the prospect of him teaming up with James Tredwell and creating a high quality spin attack. Malinga is an experienced cricketer and will add great knowledge to our team; both on and off the field."
Bandara have claimed taken 391 wickets in first class matches at an average of 24.96 - while he also averages 19.97 with the bat.
Nasser Hussain says the great thing about Joe Root is there's no obvious way to get him out.
