Aussie skipper George Bailey blamed his team's 'poor fielding' following Sri Lanka's five-wicket T20 victory over the hosts in Sydney on Saturday.

Despite an excellent unbeaten 90 by opener David Warner - who faced just 62 balls - the visitors reached their target of 138 with seven deliveries still to be bowled at the ANZ Stadium.

Bailey said: "To be honest I thought our fielding was disappointing.

"It probably cost us 10 runs, plus four or five dropped catches.

"Although, sitting on the sidelines, all you could do was sit there and applaud the way they bowled."

The second and final T20 contest takes place in Melbourne on Sunday.
