Over 63 - Southee 0-4-0-4-0-4 240/5 The Kiwis have bowled really well today, if it was not for the initial burst from Sehwag and Gambhir, India would be really struggling now. Kohli flicks this off his pads for a square leg four, classy shot Laxman-esque. A wide one from Southee and Kohli dismisses it through the off side, just a commanding shot. He moves on to 47. Kohli gets his 50 with an exquisite straight drive, just pushes it part the tired bowler for four.

Over 61 - Southee 0-2-1-1-0-0 230/5 Southee warms up and runs in to bowl. He looks tired, after bowling on and off in this long session. Slopping fielding and overthrows give them another run, so two for Kohli. Punches on to deep point for a single to bring Dhoni on strike. Dhoni pushing another one into the gap on the off side, there are many gaps because of the spread out field. Four from this over, India need another 27 to win.
Over 60 - Patel 0-1lb-0-0-0-1 228/5 Taylor has spread out the field, not sure if that is the right tactic at this stage. A single and a leg bye from the over, 230 for 5.
Over 59 - Boult 1-0-0-1-0-1 225/5 Dhoni cuts Boult to deep point for a single, the wrists coming into play. Taylor is not attacking anymore, there is no other way to win this test match for him. Three singles from the over, India 33 away from a victory.
Over 58 - Patel 1-0-4-0-0-0 220/5 Dhoni late cutting Patel for a single again, using that shot against the spinners well. Kohli plays his signature flick on the leg side for four, such a powerful shot. India need 36 to win.
Over 57 - Boult 0-0-1-1-1-4 213/5 After a drinks break, it is to Boult continue as India need 48 to win. Southee gets some treatment on his shoulder in the break. Boult looking to see if he can get some reverse swing from this old ball. Kohli times this one nicely for four through the covers.
Over 56 - Patel 0-1-2-2-0-0 208/5 Patel comes back as Taylor shuffles his bowlers again. Kohli plays it behind point and runs the first one hard, picking up two in the end. Another couple of runs for Kohli, bringing the target less than 50 now. These two have run well between the wickets, taking some risky singles.
Over 55 - Bracewell 0-0-4-0-0-0 204/5 Kohli plays a well balanced, beautiful cover drive for four. There was no stopping that one. These two batsmen have steadied the ship well for India, taken quick singles and twos when they are on offer. Just the boundary from it, India now 53 runs away.
Over 54 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-2 202/5 A short ball from Southee that really climbed on Dhoni. It is getting a bit lighter and there are a few shadows. Dhoni takes a couple from the last ball. India now need 57 to win.
Over 53 - Bracewell 0-0-1-0-0-0 201/5 Dhoni takes a break, rubs his eyes, takes off his helmet and rubs them again. Then he pushes one through the cover region for a single. A good over from Bracewell, just a single from it.
Over 52 - Southee 1-0-0-1-0-0 199/5 The next psychological milestone for the Indians is needing 50 to win. Kohli plays a dangerous hook shot, it hits the glove then the helmet and goes to the boundary, they get a single. Southee is bowling well, causing problems for the batsmen. Kohli going for another hook shot and missing again.
Over 51 - Bracewell 0-0-0-0-0-0 199/5 Bracewell continues to bowl wide of off stump. He should look to bring one or two deliveries back into the batsmen, because they will then feel uncomfortable to leave balls alone. Good bowling now from Bracewell, Dhoni just having a nibble outside off. He tells himself, he should not be doing that. A maiden.
Over 50 - Southee 1-0-0-1-0-1 196/5 Southee into the attack now, another good move from Taylor. His field placings and tactics have been positive and attacking, which really helped his bowlers. Southee starts this spell with a good over, bowling straighter and fuller. Three singles from the over, India 199 for 5.
Over 49 - Bracewell 0-0-0-0-0-0 196/5 Taylor should consider pace from both ends as Bracewell replaces Boult. These two batsmen have looked comfortable against spin. Good bounce for Bracewell and good carry to the keeper. Nethula and Patel have another chat. Bracewell is bowling outside the off stump, trying to look for the edge, a maiden from him.
Over 48 - Patel 0-0-1-6-0-0 189/5 McCullum encouraging the bowler and the fielders from behind the stumps. Kohli takes a single just angling the ball to the leg side again. Dhoni sweeps, gets it on the shoulder of his bat and it goes for a six. The pressure slowly shifting now, but it was a risky shot.
Over 47 - Boult 0-2-0-4-4b-0 179/5 A convincing appeal for caught behind against Dhoni, the umpire does not think he hit it. Replays show that it was the bat hitting the pad that made the noise. Dhoni takes a couple on the off side. They are taking the singles and twos which is a positive sign, the bowlers are not allowed to settle into a rhythm. Dhoni opens the face of the bat again for a boundary. It was just a punch but the outfield does the rest. Boult bowls a wide down the leg side and it goes for a boundary beating everything. A good over for India, 10 from it.
Over 46 - Patel 2-0-0-1-1-1 174/5 India have lost half of their side, thanks to a couple of bad shots and some good seam and spin bowling. Kohli and Dhoni to continue after the drinks break. Dhoni cuts one hard, to the sweeper for a couple of runs. Then blocks a couple and cuts again, very close to his stumps though. Kohli is playing well through the leg side.
Over 45 - Boult 0-1-0-0-0-0 173/5 Nethula having a chat with Patel on the boundary, just congratulating him on some good bowling. Dhoni takes a quick single, not sure if that is the right option at this stage. A good over from Boult, just one from it.
Over 44 - Patel W-1-1-1-0-4 166/4 Raina to face Patel as India need 95 to win. Raina comes down the wicket, misses the ball completely and is bowled. WICKET! What was he thinking there? Kohli at the other end is disappointed, Raina walks back for a duck. Dhoni gets a single from his first ball. Kohli takes a single on the off side. Indians rotating the strike well after Raina. Kohli hits the last ball of the over through the leg side for four.
Over 43 - Boult 4-0-0-4-0-0 158/4 Kohli driving a loose one from Boult to get a boundary. India need less than a hundred to win now, which is psychologically good for the home team. An appeal for a lbw but umpire gives it not out, must have been pitching outside the leg stump. Kohli releasing the pressure now with another boundary, this time straight down the ground.
Over 42 - Patel 0-0-0-0-0-0 158/4 Taylor continuing with Patel who is bowling really well. The groundsman must be given credit for a good pitch, it has a little bit for everyone. The seamers will be happy with the bounce and movement, spinner can't complain about the lack of spin. There have been a couple of hundreds so the batsmen have got their chances too. Overall a really balanced pitch. Four maidens in a row now.
Over 41 - Boult 0-0-0-0-0-0 158/4 There are two new batsmen at the crease and the Kiwis getting a couple of wickets after the break. Boult will look to attack them and has 3 slips to support him. Kohli will have to be patient like he was in the first innings. A maiden from Boult.
Over 40 - Patel 0-0-W-0-0-0 158/3 Patel asking Pujara to drive through the cover region, looking for an edge. WICKET! Pujara offers a bat and pad opportunity and Flynn takes a good catch. India in trouble after the break, they need Raina and Kohli to build a partnership. Good spin bowling and an athletic catch at forward short leg. Raina walks into the middle. A wicket maiden from Patel.
Over 39 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-0 158/3 Southee the new man, Kohli, the two youngsters for India replacing Dravid and Laxman. India need 103 to win, as Southee completes another maiden. This is going to be a long session, because of the rain we had, so Taylor will need to shuffle his bowlers to make sure they don't tire out.
Over 38 - Patel 0-0-4-0-0-0 154/3 Pujara plays a good shot from the back foot, a typical shot in the sub-continent against spin, driven for four. He has played well, looked vulnerable hooking against the short ball, but has moved on to 48 now.
Over 37 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-1 153/3 Tendulkar playing across the ball again and the ball going through the gap between bat and pad, he was really annoyed with himself. A short ball for Pujara, this is very good bowling by Southee, the batsman pulling out of the shot.
Over 36 - Patel 0-0-0-0-1-0 152/3 This is exactly what New Zealand wanted, a wicket soon after the break. Pujara playing Patel's spin carefully, blocking and padding. A good over from Patel.
Over 35 - Southee 0-0-4-W-0-0 148/2 The crowds shouting "Sachin...Sachin" as he takes strike to Southee. Tendulkar opens the face of the bat and plays it through the absent third slip for four. Risky shot to bring up the Indian 150. WICKET! Tendulkar's stumps have been disturbed for the second time this series, Southee going through the defenses. India lose the little master on 27. Kohli comes in to bat. India need 109 more to win.
Over 34 - Patel 0-0-0-0-0-0 148/2 Patel to bowl, after causing some problems before tea. A missed stumping chance of his bowling too. Pujara and Tendulkar will look to concentrate again, get settled and then score some runs. Pujara blocks the whole over from Patel, a maiden in the end.
Over 33 - Southee 4-4-0-1-4-1 After the rain and the early tea, Southee will run in to finish his over. India will start their chase as Pujara takes a single to end the over. 14 from it.
Tea Day 4 The news is that it is still drizzling, but not a lot. They have taken an early tea on day 4. A good decision as it will take some time to get the field ready after it stops raining. Southee still has to finish his over with one ball remaining. The break will not help the Indians who were looking to attack before the rain came down. But once the target is below 100 they will feel more comfortable, and NZ will go on the defensive. The match is poised very well, all the action after the tea break.
Rain Delay There is a short rain delay, Southee's over remains incomplete for now. It looks like a passing shower, nothing threatening. It will be a welcome break for the Kiwis as the rain came down just when India were looking good. We will be back as soon as the rain stops.
Over 33 - Southee 4-4-0-1-4 134/2 Tendulkar standing up tall and hitting through the covers for a four, commanding shot. This time he sits down and cuts it behind point, slightly risky but he was in control of the shot. Follows it up with a straight bat defense. This time it is Pujara punching off the back foot through the covers for four. Another good shot from the Indians. The umpire is calling for the covers, there is a bit of rain.
Over 32 - Patel 4-1-0-0-0-0 129/2 Tendulkar plays a sweep with the spin of Patel for a boundary down to fine leg, his second four. Also brings up the 50 for this partnership. Stumping chance missed, beautifully bowled to Pujara who came down the wicket, McCullum dropping the ball giving the batsman time to come back. The spinner causing problems for India. Eventful over from Patel who deserved that wicket.
Over 31 - Southee 0-0-0-4lb-1-1 123/2 It is seam and spin in the form of Southee and Patel. Southee keeping it outside off again to Pujara. Another short ball that hits Pujara on the helmet and goes for four, he tries to hit it but drops his hands at the last minute. Southee asking Pujara about the weather again! This time the short ball is well negotiated for a single.
Over 30 - Patel 1-0-0-0-0-1 121/2 Patel into the attack, spinning it nicely into Tendulkar who pushes it into the off side for a single. Pujara hitting one to Flynn who is under the helmet, but it can't really be called a catch. Patel is doing well here.
Over 29 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-0 121/2 Southee starting with one way outside off stump and follows up with another one. He is not going to get any wickets like that. Southee talking to Pujara as he bowls short and fast and the batsman leaves it alone. May be he was asking Pujara about the weather. Southee swinging the ball but keeping it outside off, just inviting Pujara for the drive and Pujara resisting. A maiden.
Over 28 - Bracewell 0-0-4-4-1-0 112/2 Bracewell runs in from the other end, with an attacking field. Taylor being positive and attacking. A nice shot from Pujara, just playing it nicely through the leg side for four. This time he plays the pull shot, but manages to keep it down and it runs to the boundary. A better shot than his hook, less risky. After hitting two fours just takes a quick single to go off-strike, good running and sensible cricket.
Over 27 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-1 111/2 Southee to replace Boult. Pujara needs to work on his hook shot, or just not play it for now, he ducks under a short ball. Tendulkar must have had a chat to him. Southee keeping it short, inviting Pujara to play the hook shot. India now need less than 150 to win.
Over 26 - Bracewell 0-1nb-0-4-0-0-0 106/2 The Kiwis have bowled well to Tendulkar, especially Bracewell. Tendulkar taking a stride forward, trying to get the feet going. A good shot through the covers for a four, that will give him some confidence, good balance and timing from the little master. Bracewell responds with a bouncer, Tendulkar ducks under it but it didn't get too high. Another bouncer, he ducks again, he is taking the eye off the ball which may prove dangerous.
Over 25 - Boult 0-4-2-0-2-4 94/2 Boult to Pujara, who plays one away from the body but plays it well. It goes through the covers for a welcome boundary, but NZ will not mind that. Pujara works it on to the leg this time, just a couple and brings up the 100 for India. Pujara looking good through the off side, just a punch into the gap for a couple, solid shot. van Wyk confirm that his head is "absolutely fine" but his arm is slight bruised, thanks to Yadav. The short ball comes from Boult and Pujara gloves it on the leg side for four.
Over 24 - Bracewell 0-0-0-0-2-0 92/2 A big shout against Tendulkar for a lbw, but may be going down leg. It looked very close, umpire Gould giving him not out. Tendulkar looking tentative here, Bracewell causing some problems with good controlled bowling. Just the two from the over.
Over 23 - Boult 1-0-0-2-0-0 89/2 Boult to Tendulkar, gets a single down leg from a climbing delivery. Pujara watchful but good with his defense. Pujara plays an uncontrolled hook for a couple of runs, that is how he got out in the first innings. He should just not play that shot for now, especially with the inconsistent bounce on this pitch. Tidy over from Boult, just three from it.
Over 22 - Bracewell 0-0-0-0-0-0 89/2 Taylor giving Southee a break and starts with Bracewell after lunch. The bowler will look to keep it outside off with the occasional short ball, there is a fielder waiting for the catch on the boundary. Pujara blocking the whole over solidly, it is a maiden.
Over 21 - Boult 0-0-0-0-0-1 88/2 It is the post lunch session and India will look to build a partnership and keep the score ticking. Boult continues, his over just before lunch was captivating. Getting a couple of wickets in a row, not just one, has been a characteristic of the Kiwis in this test. All the more reason for Gambhir not to play the shot he did to get out. Single from the last ball.
Lunch Day 4 India need another 173 runs to win, New Zealand need eight Indian wickets. Sehwag and Gambhir opened aggressively and gave India a flying start, but after Sehwag fell, Gambhir went into his shell, the lack of runs inducing an unnecessary shot. The Kiwis have recovered very well, bowling some good overs before lunch, testing Pujara and Tendulkar with a couple of close lbw shouts. Stay tuned for an intriguing post lunch session.
Over 20 - Bracewell 0-0-0-0-1-0 87/2 This should be the last over before lunch. The seamers causing problems for India again, after Sehwag's demise the Kiwis are on top. Pujara looking to defend before lunch, getting a single on the leg side. Tendulkar blocks one and that is lunch on day 4.
Over 19 - Boult 0-0-0-0-0-0 87/5 Five minutes to go to lunch and NZ will look to create some pressure on Tendulkar. A huge appeal for lbw against Tendulkar, that looked close but umpires gives it not out. Replays show that the impact was just outside off, which could have saved him. Boult is charged up, pardon the pun! An excellent maiden from Boult.
Over 18 - Bracewell 0-0-2-0-0-2 83/2 The pressure of not scoring any runs from that over getting to Gambhir, there was really no need to give his wicket away like that. Pujara plays one on the leg side with an angled bat for a couple. A good over by Bracewell as Pujara sneaks in another couple of the last ball.
Over 17 - Boult 0-0-0-0-0-W 83/1 A huge shout for lbw, everything was fine except the big inside edge. Ross Taylor finally holds on to something, Gambhir gone! WICKET! Taylor kicking it in the air after taking it, Gambhir trying to reach for one that was far outside off, no need to play that shot.
Over 16 - Bracewell 4-0-0-0-0-0 79/1 Pujara guides one nicely through the gully region for a four, a rare miss from Williamson who has made some good stops in that region. Bracewell looking looking to ball outside off stump, the leg side has big gaps in the field. Watling appealing for nothing, just trying to get some energy into the Kiwi attack. Just the four from the over, India need 178 to win now.
Over 15 - Boult 0-0-0-0-0-0 79/1 Boult runs in. Gambhir and Pujara are now looking to settling down at the crease. A maiden from Boult.
Over 14 - Bracewell 0-0-1-0-1-0 77/1 Bracewell replaces Patel, as Indians are back to playing test cricket. They looked like they were playing an ODI when Sehwag was around. Just the two singles from the over, it is 79/1.
Over 13 - Southee 0-0-0-0-0-0 77/1 The run rate that is above 6 will now go down, but India still in a good position. Southee comes back into the attack, will Gambhir stay positive after the wicket of Sehwag? First maiden of the innings, India 77 for 1.
Over 12 - Patel 0-6-0-4-W-0 67/0 Patel gets to bowl after the short drinks break. The new ball that worked so well for the Kiwis in the first innings, is not doing much for them here. Sehwag hits this over mid on for a six, another great shot from him. Then he walks outside the leg stump, waits for the ball and places it to the third man boundary. WICKET! Sehwag gets a straighter one and misses, bowled him. Patel strikes for his captain, Sehwag gone! After scoring 10 runs from that over, Sehwag felt the need to comes down the pitch and attack some more. Pujara comes in.
Over 11 - Southee 0-1-0-0-0-1 65/0 Southee has to work hard here, has not really found the rhythm he had in the first innings. Sehwag tries to get it through the gully but Williamson makes another good stop in that area. Jeetan Patel cuts this off on the square boundary, another good shot but just getting a single this time.
Over 10 - Bracewell 4-0-0-4-0-4 53/0 A wild swish from Sehwag that goes for four between gully and slips, the feet not moving. Bracewell pushes the next one slightly outside off and Sehwag leaves it alone. Sehwag plays one fine down the leg side for four, just helped it away from his hips. What a shot! Sehwag does not play the straight drive too often but this time to was perfect. So straight that it just misses the stumps at the other end, and goes for four. The run rate now 6.5!
Over 9 - Southee 0-0-1-0-2-0 50/0 Southee changes ends and has a chat with Franklin, exchanging some ideas. A big and late shout from McCullum for caught behind, Sehwag's feet not moving at all, given not out. Another play and a miss from Sehwag. Sensibly, just drops the ball and gets a quick single to get off-strike. Gambhir just pushes this one into the leg side for a couple, stopped at the boundary by Watling.
Over 8 - Bracewell 0-0-4-4-0-0 42/0 Bracewell comes into the attack, to replace Southee. Gambhir gets one through the fielder at mid on for a boundary, Franklin diving full length just to get a hand on that. Another fantastic cover drive brings up the 50 for India, a very positive shot and a very positive start. Gambhir defends a couple to end the over.
Over 7 - Boult 0-4-4-0-0-1lb 33/0 Gambhir puts this behind point for a four, it flies to the ropes. Another one into the off side from Gambhir for four, this time through to covers. Gambhir from the first innings has been completely different from the one here. End with a single leg bye, it is 42 for no loss.
Over 6 - Southee 0-0-0-4-0-0 29/0 Indian openers have struggled recently, but they are batting well here. Sehwag seems to be focusing harder today and Gambhir is finding the middle of his bat more often. Sehwag gets through the covers just to the right of point, the ball races to the boundary.
Over 5 - Boult 1-0-0-0-0-4 24/0 Boult bowls on to Sehwag's pads who flicks it away on the leg side for a side down to fine leg. Gambhir blocks a few then gets one through the covers for four, a glorious drive from him.
Over 4 - Southee 4-0-0-0-0-0 20/0 Gambhir waits for it and then plays it nicely on to the leg side for four. He is looking attacking, trying to get bat on ball. Watling is the substitute for McCullum who is keeping wickets for van Wyk, who is injured. Just the four from the over.
Over 3 - Boult 0-0-0-4-0-0 16/0 The Kiwis not giving Sehwag any width, he is also a candidate for lbw so keeping it straight is a good plan. He does not get any room this time but still manages to thread it through the off side for four. Boult comes back with the one that beats the outside edge of the bat, Sehwag just closes his eyes and shakes his head.
Over 2 - Southee 4-5wd-1-0-0-0 6/0 No surprises with Southee starting from the other end. Just starts with a loose ball, that is worked through the leg side from his pads by Sehwag for four. Southee digs one in short that has really taken off for 4 wides. That ball will cause doubt in the minds of the Indian batsmen. Southee to Gambhir, who prefers to get bat on ball than leaving the ball after what happened in the first innings. McCullum keeping wickets as van Wyk is injured.
Over 1 - Boult 0-2-0-0-4-0 0/0 Boult to start the final innings, as Southee warms up. Gambhir drives one through the covers to get a couple of runs. Gambhir will try to score a big one here, to improve his recent lack of form. Then he drives away from the body for four, same shot as before just getting two more runs for it.
End of Innings India will be facing the Kiwi seamers as they look to chase 261 to win. Early wickets will be the key for the visitors to get the advantage.
Over 74 - Khan 0-W 248/9 Patel swings and misses, as Khan pushes it slightly outside off. Patel is caught behind, he is not happy with the decision. Umpire Gould gives a late decision, the appeal was not confident either, but no DRS in India so NZ all out for 248. India need 261 and NZ need 10 wickets to win.
Over 73 - Ojha 0-1-0-0-0-0 247/9 Ojha is brought in early to attack the tail. Dhoni attacking Boult more than Patel, having more close in fielders. Boult succesfully blocks the rest of the over.
Over 72 - Khan 0-1-4-0-1-2 239/9 Khan to continue. This partnership will frustrate the Indians. Patel lifts this one nicely down the ground for a one bounce four, handy runs for NZ. Sensible batting from Patel here, just pushing for singles regularly and getting the odd boundary. Chris Martin would not have survived last night. Eight from the over, eight more than India wanted to give away in that over.
Over 71 - Yadav 1-1-0-0-4-0 233/9 Dhoni starting with a defensive field, does not want to give too many runs away for the last wicket. Two easy singles, there should be more fielders in the ring. Patel pushes the lead past 250 as he lifts this one on to the leg side for four, nice shot. Yadav responds with a short ball to finish the over.
Over 70 Khan 0-0-0-1-0-0 232/9 Khan runs in to bowl with two slips. He gets good carry and bounce this morning. The Indian batsmen just coming close to the pitch and having a look, they will be batting soon. Just one from the over.
News Kruger van Wyk has suffered a forearm injury and will not be keeping today. Brendon McCullum will keep wickets for the rest of the match. van Wyk was hit on the arm by Yadav yesterday when one of the balls kept low.
