Over 20: Sidebottom 1-1-1-1-1-2143-8 - And that's it - England have secured a second consecutive victory over the Kiwis, who were never really at the races here in Christchurch. The 50-run margin shows how dominant the tourists have been, they will hope to continue their Twenty20 form into the opening one-dayer in Wellington on Saturday.
Over 19: Anderson 4-1-4-0-4-1136-8 - Anderson proves a little costly in his final over, conceding three boundaries. New Zealand now need just 58 from the final over.
Over 18: Sidebottom 0-1-W-0-0-0122-8 - WICKET! - Hitchcock's last half hour may have been entertaining with the bat but it is all over now, Sidebottom flattening his middle stump with an excellent Yorker.
Over 17: Broad 6-0-1-1-4-0121-7 - Broad finishes with an expensive final over, a six and a four spoiling his final figures a little. He ends with 1-31 from his four overs and it appears Sidebottom and Anderson will finish off for England.
Over 16: Swann 1-2-1-2-1-1109-7 - New Zealand need 85 to win off 24 balls. This is an order too tall even for Jack Bauer. Swann finishes with 2-30 from his four overs.
Over 15: Broad 4-0-0-0nb-1-0-0101-7 - Broad is no balled for one too many short balls in the over. He was responding to Mills' lusty blow down the ground for four at the start of the over, giving the batsman a few bouncers to let him know he can bowl with a bit of pace.
Over 14: Swann 1-6-1-W-1-095-7 - WICKET! - Flynn lasts just two balls on his New Zealand debut, lifting Swann out to deep cover where Luke Wright eventually takes a simple catch at the third time of asking.
Over 13: Masc'has 2-0-4-W-0-086-6 - WICKET! - After backing away and hitting Mascarenhas through the covers, Jamie How is bowled leg stump moving across to the off side and trying to hit to leg.
Mascarenhas finishes his four-over spell with the excellent figures of 2-25.
Over 12: Swann 1-2-0-1-W-180-5 - WICKET! - Two Metre Peter (Fulton) is gone for just two, sweeping Swann straight to the welcoming hands of James Anderson at deep backward square leg.
Over 11: Masc'has W-0-0-1-2lb-075-4 - WICKET! - Styris goes trying to hit Mascarenhas into the building site. He only succeeds in top-edging the ball high in the air for Sidebottom to snaffle at short third man.
Over 10: Broad 0-0-1-0-2-171-3 - We're at the halfway stage of this innings and the Black Caps still need another 123 runs to win. Despite the over rate being good, Broad is running back to his marker after each delivery, perhaps trying to keep warm on what is a chilly evening in Christchurch.
Over 9: Masc'has 0-1-1-6-1-467-3 - Styris shows his quality with a flat sweep off Dimi's bowling that goes all the way for six. New Zealand needs plenty more shots like that if they are to make a game of this.
Over 8: Swann 1-1-4-0-1-154-3 - It's time for some spin for England as Swann comes on. Styris nearly loses his wicket taking a risky single to Collingwood at mid-wcket - a direct hit and the Kiwi would have been on his way.
Over 7: Masc'has 0-1-0-2-1-046-3 - With the fielding restrictions relaxed Collingwood brings his slower bowlers on, starting with Mascarenhas. He concedes just four off his first over and now the Black Caps needs 148 from just 78 deliveries.
Over 6: Broad 0-3-0-6-W-042-3 - WICKET! - Taylor manages a home run off Broad, hitting the biggest six of the night by far with a slog over mid-wicket. However, the bowler gets swift revenge, dropping his length and getting Taylor to hit one high in the air that Bell catches at cover.
Over 5: Anderson 1-1-2-6-0-433-2 - Ross Taylor gets the Kiwis going with a six and four over mid-wicket off Anderson. The maximum was a big hit to the longest boundary on the ground.
Over 4: Sidebottom 1-1-0-1-1-W19-2 - WICKET! - Sidebottom strikes and doesn't he just love it! McCullum gets an inside edge to a Yorker that goes on to knock off stump out of the ground.
Over 3: Anderson 1-1-0-0-W-115-1 - WICKET! - Ryder's the first wicket to fall, Shah doing well to hold on to a catch that must swirled around in the high winds.
As well as staging this Twenty20, Christchurch is also hosting the world croquet championships. I'm not sure the atmosphere is quite the same, though I'm sure that sport would benefit from some coloured clothing and music in between hits.
Over 2: Sidebottom 1-1-0-4-1-012-0 - Ryder slaps Sidebottom away through the covers for his second boundary. New Zealand need more than just one four an over to keep up with the required run-rate.
Over 1: Anderson 4-0-0-0-1-05-0 - Jesse Ryder slams the first ball of the innings for four but the Black Caps manage only another one run off the next five deliveries. Remember there is no Jacob Oram - who hit 61 in Auckland - down the order for the home side.
FINAL SCORE Luke Wright tells Mike Atherton on the boundary edge that England were always looking to make 180+. Now it's down to the bowlers to do their job.
Over 20: Mills 1w-2-1-4-0-1W-W193-8 - WICKET! - Mascarenhas perishes trying to come back for two. He had already hit a four in the over when he squeezed out a Yorker past the short third man.
WICKET! - Broad makes good contact with the final ball but only hits high into the air for Ryder to run around from mid-wicket and catch.
Over 19: Hitchcock 1-1-1w-6-W-W-6184-6 -WICKET! - Shah perishes trying to hit a second successive maximum, caught by Taylor at long-off. That wicket ends a partnership of 102, the best for any wicket by an England pair in Twenty20 Internationals.
WICKET! - Collingwood goes to the very next ball for 54, chipping out to Jamie How at long-on. On a hat-trick, Hitchcock attempts to bounce Dimi and sees the ball fly over backward point for six! Not a bad reply from the England all-rounder.
Over 18: Mills 4-6-1-1-1-1169-4 - Collingwood takes 10 from the first two deliveries of Mills' return over, those two lusty blows taking the England skipper to a fabulous 50 that has included five fours and three sixes.
Over 17: Ryder 2-4-6-0-0-4155-4 - Shah finds this medium-paced bowling an Easy Ryder, hitting 16 off the all-rounder's second over.
He could have been stumped from the fifth ball but McCullum fails to gather, instead taking the bails off with his gloves and not the ball. To compound the error the next delivery goes for four high over cover.
Over 16: Martin 2-1-1-1-4-4139-4 - Collingwood finishes the over with a bang, slamming away back-to-back full tosses from Martin through mid-wicket.
Over 15: Ryder 1-1-1-1-1-1126-4 - Ryder comes on and concedes just six singles off the over, which may be enough to get the 'larger-than-life' all-rounder a second over in this match. In Auckland he took 1-2 with his first six balls and didn't bowl again.
Over 14: Hitchcock 0-1-0-1-4-0120-4 - Hitchcock, he of the rather expensive first over, returns and this time concedes just six. It looked like it would be even better until Shah steers a full toss wide of cover for four.
Over 13: Southee 0-6-4-1-0-1114-4 - Southee suffers an expensive final over to ruin his figures slightly, Collingwood hitting 10 off two balls straight down the ground. Nevertheless, the 19-year-old seamer finishes with 2-22 off his four overs.
Over 12: Styris 1-1-6-4-0-1102-4 - Collingwood gets the run-rate going again with a six and a four off Styris, smacking away two long hops to the short fine leg boundary.
Over 11: Southee 1-1-1-0-1-189-4 - England pick up five singles as the pace drops after such a frantic start. This ground is of no great size and the pitch is good, so Collingwood will want around 180 again.
Over 10: Styris 1-0-4-0-2-084-4 - Owais Shah gets off the mark in fine style with a thumping pull stroke off the very medium pace bowling of Scott Styris. England are halfway through and on course for another sizeable total.
Over 9: Southee 0-W-1-0-0-077-4 - WICKET! - And another one bites the dust, England are folding quicker than an expert at origami. Mustard heaves one high into the air for Mills to catch at long-on. That ends his innings on 40 made off just 24 deliveries.
Over 8: Styris 0-0-W-4-0-176-3 - WICKET! - Bell rings briefly, lasting less than an over before he is run out trying to sneak one following a Ross Taylor fumble. Surely when he was a young 'un his coaches told him to never run on a mis-field?
After such a good start England have now lost three wickets in as many overs, though it doesn't stop Mustard from carving one away over the top of cover.
Over 7: Southee 0-1-1-1-W-171-2 - WICKET! - Tim Southee gets a big breakthrough in his first over, trapping Pietersen leg before as the right-hander walks across his crease and misses a full bunger that was going on to flatten middle. The bent finger of Billy Bowden sends KP on his way for just three.
Over 6: Martin 4-0-0-4-W-267-1 - WICKET! - Wright's gone wrong, trying to heave away a good Yorker from Martin that hits the base of middle. The Sussex man has done his job, though, managing 30 off just 19 balls and putting on 65 for the first wicket with Mustard.
If the Kiwis thought it would get easier then here's KP to the crease fresh from a quick-fire 43 in the first match - he starts here in Christchurch with a nice push through the covers for two.
Over 5: Hitchcock 6-1-4-6-1-457-0 - Paul Hitchcock comes into the attack, this is his first appearance for New Zealand in four years.
He may wish he'd have waited a little longer still as his first over goes for 22, including straight sixes hit by both batsman. This opening pair have put on 50 for the first wicket and the run-rate is up above 11.
Over 4: Martin 1-4-1-1-0-435-0 - Wright gets in on the act now, hitting a wonderful four through the covers to open his boundary account and then carving a short-of-a-length ball over the top of point for four more.
Over 3: Mills 0-6-0-0-4-124-0 - Mustard dispatches two full tosses down the ground, the first via the aerial route while the second goes all along the ground back past the bowler. The left-hander also manages to steal the strike off the final ball of the over.
Over 2: Martin 1-1-1-0-6-01w-113-0 - WHACK! Mustard's getting hot now, getting a thick edge off Martin that soars over the head of third man for a maximum. A quite remarkable shot considering it came off the outside edge.
Over 1: Mills 1-0-0-1lb-0-02-0 - England make a slow start, not something you would expect with these two at the crease. Remember New Zealand do not have Jacob Oram to bowl four overs today. He's resting an injury ahead of the ODI series.
