Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says that he is facing some tough decisions over his bowling attack for Friends Provident t20 finals day.

The Outlaws have been boosted by the availability of England Test pair Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann for the 20-over showpiece on Saturday.

Seamer Ryan Sidebottom, who was a member of the England side that won the ICC World Twenty20 this year, will also be part of the squad.

Australia international Dirk Nannes is also set to figure in a formidable attack as Nottinghamshire face Somerset in the semi-final stage at the Rose Bowl.

However, the likes of Matt Wood, Graeme White and Darren Pattinson could make a claim to be included after solid performances in the group stages of the competition.

Changes

Newell says that he still has not decided which bowlers will line up for the Outlaws and also hinted that changes could be made for the final should they get there.

"I'll have one more discussion with (captain) David Hussey in the afternoon and we plan to let the players know the team after our net session at the Rose Bowl," he said.

"There are one or two places in the side where we have tough calls to make and if we were to reach the final then our team could well change because the wicket may be more susceptible to spin by that stage.

"We've got a great opportunity to win a trophy but you only have to look at the odds being offered by the bookmakers to realise how evenly matched the four teams are."

Explosive

Somerset will be counting on their explosive opening partnership of Marcus Trescothick and Craig Kieswetter to subdue their opponents' quality with the ball.

The in-form James Hildreth will also be a danger as the battle between the Somerset top order and Nottinghamshire attack shapes up to be one of the day's highlights.

Although the Outlaws have big-name internationals at their disposal, Somerset boast the competition's top wicket-taker in Alfonso Thomas.

The South African has picked up 31 wickets during the FP t20 campaign so far, with team-mate Kieron Pollard not far behind on 27.

The winner of the last-four meeting is likely to go into the final against either Hampshire or Essex as marginal favourites.
