Cook: back on domestic duty
England opener Alastair Cook makes his first appearance of the season for Essex.
Cook replaces Varun Chopra at the top of the order in what is likely to be the only change to the XI that demolished Northamptonshire last week.
Fast bowler Alex Tudor is included in the squad but there is no place for all-rounder Graham Napier, who will visit a consultant after failing a fitness test on his knee.
Meanwhile, with Greg Smith awaiting the results of a scan on a pulled muscle under his arm, Derbyshire will be missing the all-rounder for the match.
Second XI wicketkeeper Fred Klokker is set to play as a specialist batsman in
place of Smith - the latter having suffered the injury whilst bowling against Gloucestershire.
Seamer Kevin Dean is also missing, his recovery from a sore knee not being quick enough.
However, off-spinner Jake Needham and all-rounder Jonathan Clare both feature.
