Jason Brown and David Wigley could be recalled by Northamptonshire for their LV County Championship Division Two clash with Worcestershire, which starts at New Road on Thursday.

Veteran Brown is likely to take the place of fellow spinner Monty Panesar, who is on England duty in the first npower Test against South Africa at Lord's.

Also missing for the visitors are Johann Louw, batsman Stephen Peters and all-rounder Andrew Cook - all three players currently being injured.

But Andrew Hall looks set to return to the side, while Wigley has been called back early from a loan spell with Gloucestershire.

Riki Wessels and Richard Logan are also named in coach David Capel's 12-man squad.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire are looking to replace Australian paceman Steve Magoffin, who has come to the end of his stint with the club.

With the Pears yet to sign another overseas player, seamer Matt Mason or off-spinner Gareth Batty could fill the gap.
