Chanderpaul: Fitness boost

West Indies have received a timely fitness boost ahead of the second One-Day International with Australia with the news that talismanic batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been passed fit to play.

The hosts clash with Australia in Granada hoping to bounce back from their heavy opening series defeat in St Vincent on Tuesday.

Debutant Shaun Marsh was the star of the show on the day as he blasted a quick-fire 81 before West Indies capitulated to 189 all out - 84 runs shy of their target.

However, the Windies are a different proposition when Chanderpaul is in their side, and he, along with Ramnaresh Sarwan, fit-again Xavier Marshall and skipper Chris Gayle make up a dynamic top-four.

After testing a few younger players in the first match it's likely Andre Fletcher or Kieron Pollard will get another chance to impress.

Oz news

Australia are expected to name the same side which enjoyed success in St Vincent as skipper Ricky Ponting gets set for his 300th ODI appearance.

Shane Watson and Marsh look set to continue at the top of the order, while David Hussey looks set to miss out again, despite the troublesome back injury to Andrew Symonds.

Wicket-keeper Brad Haddin's right ring finger is troubling him, so Luke Ronchi may receive an opportunity in the next two ODI's.

Mitchell Johnson showed signs of improvement in St Vincent and Australia look likely to continue with him rather than including Stuart Clark.
