Scotland captain Ryan Watson praised his side's bowling against Pakistan, but admitted they came up short in their bid for a shock win.
The Scots had their tails up at the break against Pakistan after a good 'first half' in which they restricted the opposition to 171-9 from their 20 overs.
A big shock in the just the second match of the World twenty20 looked on the cards after a solid response, but Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul took four wickets each as Scotland collapsed.
Fraser Watts hit a fine 46 but it was never going to be enough and the Scots lost their Group D clash by 51 runs.
"I thought we bowled really well up front and when we walked off I thought we had done a really good job," Watson told Sky Sports.
"But they came out and bowled really well. I thought their spinners did a great job and it proved a bit too much.
"I thought our seamers bowled excellently. We looked to get wickets in the first six overs, which we did, so all credit to them.
"But they just kept hitting and a couple of boundaries just got away from us.
"We did a good job with the ball and Fraser did well. We just lost it a bit in the middle."
Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik was pleased with the victory, but knows theywill have to improve as they go on to face fierce rivals India in their next match.
"We have got enough batting line-up but I think we can do a lot more than we did in the first innings," said Malik.
"We have a very good bowling attack and I am satisfied but we can do a lot better, especially in batting.
"The guys were training hard and were backing each other up and I am satisfied with the performance. There were mistakes but we will learn from that."
