Adam Voges led from the front with 70 for Notts
Phil Jaques: Struck an unbeaten 58 for Yorkshire
Yorkshire booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Friends Life t20 and replaced Nottinghamshire atop the North Group following a comfortable six-wicket victory over the Outlaws at Trent Bridge.
The White Rose county warmed up for Friday night's televised Roses battle with Lancashire in style as they successfully chased down Notts' 148-6 with 14 balls to spare.
In-form Australian batsman Phil Jaques top-scored for Yorkshire with 58 not out, sharing an unbroken 43-run partnership with Gary Ballance (26 not out), to see the Tykes home.
Jaques struck four fours and a solitary six in his unbeaten knock off 47 balls while Adam Lyth (33) and Ballance provided able support.
Captain Adam Voges was the backbone of Nottinghamshire's innings, striking 70 as the hosts made 148-6 after deciding to bat first.
It proved to be nowhere near enough, however, and Yorkshire are now five points clear of third-placed Durham with two games remaining while Nottinghamshire must beat either Derbyshire or Leicestershire to join them in the last eight.
