Usman Khawaja: Hit 104 from 109 balls as Derbyshire beat the Unicorns
Derbyshire recorded a Clydesdale Bank 40 double over the Unicorns thanks to Usman Khawaja's maiden one-day century for the Falcons.
The Australian hit 104 from 109 balls and shared a century opening stand with Chesney Hughes as the hosts beat their rivals by 35 runs at Chesterfield.
Hughes made 66 in an opening stand of 138 in 26 overs as the Falcons eventually posted 235 for seven.
It was a demanding target for a team that had not previously scored 200 in the CB40 this season, although they got off to a flier as James Ord and Bradley Wadlan plundered 30 from Mark Turner's opening three overs.
Following their dismissals, Luis Reece led the chase with 59 from 63 balls but when he sliced Turner to cover in the 35th over, it ended the Unicorns' slim hopes.
The visitors were eventually bowled out for 200, with Turner wrapping up victory with his fourth victim in the 39th over to record figures of 4-54.
The Falcons' only previous victory in the competition was against the Unicorns in early May.
