South Africa earned a 2-1 victory in the T20 international series against New Zealand with a 33-run win in the third match at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth.
Set a target of 180, New Zealand ended short on 146-9 as Aaron Phangiso and Ryan McLaren each claimed 3-25.
Martin Guptill (24) and Brendon McCullum (25) put on 47 for the second wicket but fell in quick succession to left-arm spinner Phangiso, a double blow from which the tourists failed to recover.
With the required-rate spiralling upwards and wickets continuing to go down regularly, the game was up for New Zealand long before the final delivery.
Earlier, opening batsman Henry Davids' second half-century in a row helped South Africa reach 179-6 after they had opted to bat first.
Davids hit 68 off 51 deliveries and was supported by Justin Ontong (48) in a third-wicket stand of 89, before David Miller (28) and Farhaan Behardien (22) added quick runs late on.
Seamers Mitchell McClenaghan (2-24) and Doug Bracewell (2-35) took two wickets each.
New Zealand's tour continues with a two-match Test series, starting at Newlands from January 2-6.
