Scotland v Canada ODI Series 2012
Cambusdoon New Ground, Ayr
Calum MacLeod made 99 not out to see Scotland to a four-wicket win over Canada in the ICC World Cricket League Championship.
The 23-year-old Glaswegian almost single-handedly steered his side to victory at Ayr, helping the hosts reach their target with 177 with 45 balls to spare.
The match had been abandoned on previous days this week due to the continuous rainfall in the area, but the weather stayed fair as Scotland set about the Canada batsmen after electing to field.
Opener Ruvindu Gunasekera scored 53 for Canada but only Zeeshan Siddiqi (43) made another telling contribution before he hit his own wicket.
Gordon Goudie and Majid Haq were the pick of the Scotland bowlers, taking two wickets each. The former also only leaked 19 runs from his 10-over spell.
Scotland's run chase suffered a bad start when they lost opener Kyle Coetzer for four in the second over.
However MacLeod was in irresistible form, hitting 12 fours during his 127-ball knock which saw him dominate a second-wicket stand of 92 with Josh Davey (23).
Goudie contributed 17 from just 11 balls and despite a few late scares, the Scots managed to get over the finishing line to boost their hopes of reaching the next World Cup.
