Umar Gul claimed 5-6 as Pakistan won the Twenty20 series against South Africa thanks to a 95-run victory in Centurion.

Friday's washout in Durban made the second match a winner-takes-all affair and Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez led the way with a 51-ball 86 as his side piled up 195-7 after choosing to bat first.

Ahmed Shehzad launched the innings with 46 from 25 deliveries and number three Hafeez built on that platform with nine fours and two sixes in his stylish contribution.

Hafeez departed in the 17th over to give seam bowler Rory Kleinveldt (2-27) a rare hit wicket dismissal but Shahid Afridi ensured the runs kept flowing to the end of the innings with three fours in his 19 not out.

New low

South Africa were dismissed for 100 in a reply lasting 12.2 overs, their lowest total in T20 internationals.

Gul was main destroyer. His haul included the wickets of Faf du Plessis, Chris Morris and Justin Ontong in the space of five deliveries during his first over, the fifth of the innings. In total, he bowled 14 balls.

South Africa were well placed on 48-1 when Gul entered the attack but soon found themselves on the brink of defeat at 67-7.

Opener AB de Villiers top scored with 36 before being bowled by Mohammad Irfan (1-27). Gul and off-spinner Hafeez (3-25) quickly polished off the tail.

South Africa dominated the preceding Test series, earning a 3-0 whitewash. Pakistan's tour finishes with a five-match ODI series starting in Bloemfontein on March 10.
