Kamran Akmal and Abdul Razzaq celebrate a dramatic win for Pakistan
Pakistan took an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match Twenty20 series against Australia following a dramatic super-over victory in Dubai.
The scores had finished tied after 20 overs and Australia then made 11-1 from Umar Gul's additional six balls before Pakistan snatched the win off the final ball of Pat Cummins' extra over.
Umar Akmal sneaked the winning single after Cummins' bouncer with his previous delivery had been called a wide.
Mohammad Hafeez (45) and Nasir Jamshed (45) had earlier provided the backbone of the Pakistan innings with a second-wicket stand of 76.
Jamshed fell when Dan Christian held a stunning one-handed diving catch off the bowling of Cummins (1-37) but Kamran Akmal's quickfire 43 not out from 26 balls lifted Pakistan to 151-4.
That total was matched by Australia for the loss of eight wickets with David Warner (31), Shane Watson (33) and Mike Hussey (23) all making useful contributions at the top of the order.
George Bailey then slammed 42 off 27 balls before being dismissed by Abdul Razzaq off the first ball of the final over.
That brought Cummins to the crease and he smashed a massive six off the penultimate ball to level the scores before being trapped lbw from the next delivery to set up the super over.
The result sees Australia drop to 10th place in the ICC Twenty20 world rankings, one place below Ireland, with only T20 fixture remaining before this month's World Cup in Sri Lanka.
