Kieron Pollard: Unbeaten on 37 from 20 balls when the weather intervened
The covers were brought towards the end of Mumbai Indians' innings
Yorkshire's Champions League Twenty20 clash with Mumbai Indians was declared a no result after heavy rain hit the Newlands ground in Cape Town.
The Indians were well placed on 156-6 with 13 balls remaining when the heavens opened and brought an early end to the Group B contest.
Dwayne Smith cleared the ropes four times in his 26-ball 37, while fellow West Indian Kieron Pollard was unbeaten on 37 from 20 when the players ran for cover.
Smith smashed Joe Root for two sixes in the first over before Sachin Tendulkar was run out after being sent back by his opening partner at the end of the third over.
Yorkshire suffered a double injury blow when seamer Ryan Sidebottom limped off with a hamstring strain, and Moin Ashraf also pulled up and could not complete his first over.
Smith belted Root for two more sixes before slapping a full toss straight to Steven Patterson, and Rohit Sharma's breezy 25 ended when he was bowled by Azeem Rafiq.
Rafiq then took a smart catch as short cover to send back Dinesh Karthik, and Ambati Rayudu was also well caught low down by Andrew Gale off Rafiq.
Harbhajan Singh hit his second and third balls for six before lofting Rashid to fellow spinner Rafiq as light drizzle turned into a heavy downpour which did not relent as Pollard was left stranded after hitting two sixes and three fours.
The no-result means group leaders Sydney Sixers have qualified for the semi-finals. They will be joined by Highveld Lions unless the Tykes can beat the South Africans on Saturday.
