Rain prevented India finishing their one-day warm-up match against England Lions on Saturday.

Vikram Solanki's side posted 296-8 from their 50 overs at Northampton, but India were only able to complete 6.5 overs of their reply.

Openers Robin Uthappa (12) and Sourav Ganguly (18) put on 31 before the umpires were forced to abandon proceedings.

Skipper Solanki (60) top-scored for the Lions, while Luke Wright made a quickfire 56 from just 40 balls.

Ramesh Powar took three wickets for 52, while Ajit Agarkar took two for 41, but the home side still posted a very imposing total.

It is far from ideal preparation for India, ahead of their seven-match one-day series against England on Tuesday.

Watch live coverage of the match from Southampton live on Sky Sports 1 from 2pm on Sunday.
