Sri Lanka v Bangladesh ODI Series 2013
Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium
The second one-day international between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was abandoned due to heavy rain after just five overs had been completed.
Sri Lanka were 33-0 in Hambantota when the rain arrived at 2:52pm and the umpires gave up hope almost four hours later, the wet weather having proved unrelenting.
Bangladesh had chosen to field first but Tillakaratne Dilshan (10 not out) and Kusal Janith Perera (18 not out) once again got the Sri Lankans off to a rapid start.
The duo put on 106 in 12 overs during Saturday's eight wicket win and they hit four boundaries between them here.
Dilshan was dropped on nine by wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim but the rain arrived before the Sri Lankan opener could cash in on his reprieve.
Hosts Sri Lanka retain their 1-0 lead in the three-match series, with the remaining contest scheduled for Pallekele on Thursday, although much of the country has been hit by heavy rain and so that fixture could also be in doubt.
