Will Porterfield and James Franklin blazed half-centuries as Gloucestershire Gladiators chased down 186 for a six-wicket victory over Middlesex Panthers in the Friends Provident t20.
Middlesex piled up 185-8 from their 20 overs after choosing to bat first at Uxbridge, number four Dawid Malan top scoring with 88 off 46 balls.
Gloucestershire's attack proved expensive but seamers Steve Kirby (3-29) and Anthony Ireland (2-31) did at least provide regular breakthroughs.
Faced with such a challenging target, opening batsman Porterfield got the scoreboard moving immediately with a 32-ball contribution of 64.
He was run out in the 10th over to reduce the Gladiators to 99-3 and leave centre stage to Franklin.
The New Zealand all-rounder was up to the task, finishing unbeaten on 51 from 37 balls as the visitors got home from the second delivery of the final over, bowled by Iain O'Brien (0-27).
Despite the victory, Gloucestershire remain bottom of the South Group on 10 ponts, while Middlesex are in sixth on 12 points.
