Amjad Khan: Heroics with the bat frustrated Yorkshire
Sussex kept their hopes of a semi-final place in the Clydesdale Bank 40 with a thrilling last-ball win over Yorkshire.
The Sharks remain top of Group C after bowler Amjad Khan produced heroics with the bat to win a game that had threatened to be ruined by rain.
Yorkshire scored 200-8 in their 28 overs, although all of their batsmen that got a start failed to go on and Andrew Gale's 43 at the top of the order proved to be their top score.
Joe Root crashed four fours and a six in a 26-ball 41 but their remaining batsmen all struggled to up the pace and left the target one that Sussex would have fancied chasing.
They looked to be well in control when Chris Nash (53) and Ed Joyce (54) added 89 for the second wicket, but they tumbled from 104-1 to 127-4 before Michael Yardy and Joe Gatting steadied the ship in the middle order.
Chasing a revised target of 208 for victory they still needed 16 off Azeem Rafiq's final over, which Khan started off with a six and a four to put Sussex on top.
Two were needed off the final delivery and Khan squeezed the ball through backward point and scrambled back for the winning run, making a mess of Rafiq's previously excellent figures - he ended with 3-46.
